Interesting. While a 2 day class does not qualify one for much,

" Hollander PhD OT/L " , does seem to use ABA techniques (at least on paper)

Here's what his course info says: C. Hollander, Ph.D., OT/L

<snip>

He is founder and director of the Behavior Analysis Team – a clinic

setting dedicated to working with individuals with severe behavioral

issues, and Founder, President and Director of the New York Institute

for Applied Behavior Management.

This sounds very different than the OTs that rub kids arms with

various brushes.

program for 5 years with great success administered by myself and an

experienced behavioral assistant, written and overseen by a thoroughly

well trained and experienced CBA).

named Hollander PhD OT/L speak and she is practically in a

manic state of enthusiam, badgering me to allow her to write a program

to administer some of his techniques while working with my dtr. In

addition she wants all our other therapists to follow this plan. I've

already run it by our Behavioral team and the general concensus is " Oh

boy here we go again...how would she appreciate someone from another

discipline going to a 2 day seminar on OT and then insisting on trying

whatever she gathered from her notes, with no supervision from the

professional " . So yes, I know it's absurd and I have a hard time

dampening her enthusiasm but she's getting almost fanatical about It.
