Guest guest
Hello, My daughter is 4 yrs. old and has PDD-NOS. We are just starting to implement playdates and I'm wondering if anyone has any good playdate ideas and suggestions? My daughter is more socially delayed than language delayed; therefore, playdates are a huge portion of the program. Our coordinator does not want to do arts and crafts and board games, she wants to do things that are fun and highly motivating like duck duck goose, ring around the rosies, lond the bridges etc.. I was wondering if anyone has any really fun and motivating ideas for a 4 year old. Thanks, Pat
Guest guest
We did some playdates through our school district's in home training service, and here were some things that were successful: We did a lunch playdate where we played " restaurant " , and each kid took a turn being the waiter (taking the order and bringing the food). In advance, I cut out some pictures of food choices they could make, attached with velcro, so the waiter could " write " down the order by transferring the pictures from the menu to his " order pad. " That probably sounds complicated -- it actually was super easy and ALL of the kids loved it. We played a ball game where everyone sits in a circle, and before you roll the ball to someone, you have to call their name to get their attention. Very simple. We played " store " and " Mcs " with some play kits and a toy cash register, and if you have a fort or climber or a big cardboard box, it can be a drive-through restaurant.
