Guest guest
Hi all, We have been trying have my father transferred because his current NH is not taking adequate care of him. We just found out the wound on his foot is a level 4 and that no other nursing home will take him in that state. What are we supposed to do now? He has the level 4 wound because this NH is not treating it properly. I think we do have outside documentation that it is not getting better but worse. His family physician saw it a few months ago and at that point recommended that it be treated differently. I do not think they complied with her recommendations. We have wanted to move him from day one (7 months ago), but something (usually the NH social worker) gets in our way each time we find a bed somewhere else. How do we force them to heal this wound? We have met with the local ombudsman before and that did not help. The nursing home basically lied about the care they were providing and called my mom a liar. It is so ironic and frustrating that we want to move him due to inadequate care yet that inadequate care is preventing him from being moved. Right now my BIL is hoping that his " authoritative male complaining " will get us somewhere. Thanks,
