Guest guest
Hello, My Mother's language skills are deteriorating. She is still able to talk incessantly, but most often, what she says is run on phrases that make little sense, and do not connect with one another. She does have some lucid moments, thank goodness, and she still knows me and family, but her conversations are so mixed up. For example, she may say, I saw the boy throw the lollipop to the man who had a gun in his car. My mother has always been extremely verbal and very well spoken. Has anyone experienced this kind of language breakdown? This speech pattern doesn't stop her from carrying on conversation with people, they just look at her and wonder what she is talking about. Any input most appreciated. We certainly do learn about this dreadful disease step by step. Joan Hackett
