Guest guest
I'm pretty fond of Ruffware harnesses. http://www.ruffwear.com/Web-Master-Harness?sc=2 & category=1131 J Porter III, VT, LMT, CCRPAnimal Rehabilitation CenterMandeville, LA70448 dog harnesses Anyone have suggestions/ recommendations for dog harnesses that are the best at NOT restricting shoulder movement - all of the ones seen at the stores most serve as a breast plate and limits the shoulder ROM. My clients are always asking about the right harness to use - Curious what most people are using.... and like the best.......thanks, jacqui
Guest guest
So far, my favorite is by Premier Pet Products, and called Sure-Fit Harness (NOT the Easy-Walk, which is a great training tool, but VERY restrictive-and I can't tell you how many times I've seen dogs wearing them for Agility and Dock Dog Diving! :-(. While we're on the subject, how about life jackets? Guest guest
I'd also love advice/suggestions on slings or wheels for a 62# dog that has minimal ability to walk on hindlegs and is currently scuffing her nails down to the quick. Especially useful would be to know of any products that are easier on the owners' backs! thanks so much,Leilani Alvarez DVM, CVAIntegrative MedicineKatonah-Bedford Veterinary CenterBedford Hills, NY 10507 Anyone have suggestions/recommendations for dog harnesses that are the best at NOT restricting shoulder movement - all of the ones seen at the stores most serve as a breast plate and limits the shoulder ROM. Guest guest
As far as slings go, I really like the Walkabout Line. www.walkaboutharnesses.com I only have experience with one cart company, and that is Doggon Wheels www.doggon.com and have been very pleased with the 10 or more carts I have purchased through them. - > > > Anyone have suggestions/recommendations for dog harnesses that are the > > best at NOT restricting shoulder movement - all of the ones seen at > > the stores most serve as a breast plate and limits the shoulder ROM. > > My clients are always asking about the right harness to use - Curious > > what most people are using.... and like the best....... > > > > thanks, jacqui > > > > > > >

Guest guest
You may also want to check out our Lift-N-Lead Harness that I personally designed for disabled animals. This harness was developed as a two part system. The front end of the harness gives full support and then there is a hind end belly band. The Front and Back can be attached by a 6 foot lead. This makes supporting the dog much easier for the owners back and safer for the dog. Also every important is that you can now control the speed of the front end of the dog while as the same time supporting the hind end. You can also easily pick the dog up like a suitcase. Many times I have owners leave the both the front and back on at all times to make it easier when they need to help the dog up. I simply tie the leash to the front of the harness so that it does not get in the way. In the spring we are extending the line of harness to include the giant breeds and have also made some key improvements in the first generation. You can check these harness out at http://www.topdoghealth.com/products/harness/large.php. We also offer very discounted pricing to veterinary hospitals and rehab facilites. For the price these are an incredible option. In my mind these harness should be on the dogs when they leave the hospital after major ortho surgery in replacement on the currently used towel or belly wrap. We can be doind a much better job of helping pet owners safely supporting their dogs.Conact me at anytime: St.Clair,DVMdrj@... Guest guest
Lupine harnesses are guaranteed even if the dog chews it!! These harnesses have a very long sternal piece that allows them to be fitted more loosely and yet still be secure and useful in controlling the whole thorax. Bison harnesses are also a good fit and quality but are slightly more expensive. These are the harnesses I use for "handles" on ataxic dogs that don't need rear support, or as suspenders for diapers, or for dogs that need restraint when they are not wearing their regular temporary devices such as Canny Collars or Haltis or Gentle leaders, so they don't get their necks injured. For support harnesses, we are very happy with the custom made Hartman's Harness Hip Helper. Judith M. Guest guest
I know DockDogs does not allow wearing of the harness while jumping; do you mean dogs wear them around the venue? Or perhaps they're not with DockDogs but another dock jumping group. Do agility groups allow dogs to wear harnesses while competing?
