I have been asking my husbands Drs for two years if they think there is a connection between his statin use and the eye problems he had and of course they all say no. When are Dr.s going to listen to their patients? We know our bodies better than anyone and I believe that most of us can tell when something is off. I don't care how old anyone is, not everything is "JUST" because of your age. I don't believe that you are in good health and then in poor health overnight without reason. The statins are the reason and the Dr.s need to face it. My husband had nothing wrong before statins, and everything wrong after statins. Statins might be helping 90% of the population, but they might be killing 10% of the population. Do those 10% not matter at all? And how do you know ahead of time whether or not you will be in the 90% or the 10%? Once my husbands problems started after using statins, he can't seem to get back to his former self. Nothing seems to help. It is as if the statins did the damage to his body and there is no way to repair it.
Guest guest
My opthamologist did admit that he had seen patients have cataracts worsen with statin drugs. I had a long-time cataract suddenly go from tolerable to really bad on Mevacor, and then subside to what it had been before when I got off the drug.
