Ed, how about bike riding? I also have bad back and knee.....(right knee) and cannot walk either because of severe pain in my feet to which no doc has had a clue of...

anyway, I started riding my bike with a friend, and she and I were doing 8 miles 3 times a week, or close to it. Then last Saturday my hubby and I went to explore and ended up doing 16.6 miles...we are in the flat valley near Willows, Ca., but man, that ride took it out of me. Now I am healing up with very sore neck, and back..but.....I love the biking.....and early mornings are awesome....

Good luck with he exercise.

What blood type are you? Has anyone here read or followed that book?

I remember doctors looking at my fingernails a long time ago, like back in the 60s....but they never do it anymore. I used to have the white moons...and a pink nailbed, but now the white moons are hardly noticeable. They just look all pink. Wonder what that means?

Also, the cayenne. My husband swears by that product. We buy ours from Heartfoods.com however....that is where we learned of it, from the book, Left for Dead.

Can't wait to see your blood test results Ed.....

My husband still has an issue with his triglycerides....very high.....and the other numbers are not to good either.....so I am going to say for some, only the statins do work on lowering cholesterol, but, is the cholesterol the main culprit, and I am with the other person who said maybe we need the cholesterol......I mean, as long as we are doing the best we can with diet, etc.

Oh and guess what? I was reading an ad for Crestor the other day......and among all the side effects I saw, Periodontal abcesses. Hmmm...imagine that. Now I suspect all statins probably carry that to some extent. Funny thing is, my husband who has had his teeth taken care of regularly all his life, recently underwent about 12,000 $$$$$$ of work. For some reason, he had severe periodontal stuff going on. He just went in for a toothache and after a bunch of tests, they found alot going wrong. Since teeth and heart stuff are related, he decided to fix everything.

We found it very odd tho, that he had so many teeth problems with "deep pockets" and decay, and periodontal stuff....I was pretty surprised when I saw that listed in the fine print under side effects. Hmmmmmm...........

Hi Ed,

There is a fantastic Master Herbalist up in Canada who used to formulate homeopathic drugs for a major British pharmaceutical company but like myself, his conscience got to him and he went into private research. He supplies a US based marketing company with special elixirs formulated especially for improving heart health. I won't mention the marketing company because the prices are very expensive probably beyond the budget of most subscribers. There is also a Master Herbalist located right here in New York who specially formulates elixirs for celebreties including the former Pope II. Again, since formualtions are literally "made to order" and costs well over $ 120.00 for a small tincture bottle, I won't mention source.

However, some readers may find her lists of ingredients for heart remedies very interesting.

Her Name is Bogumila Koss, a Polish refugeee who survived the Nazi death camps in Poland by a miracle. I have sat for hours in evenings and talked long into the night with this absolutely brilliant researcher. At one time, she was the Top Cancer researcher for the Rockefeller Foundation but resigned after she claimed that the founders were not interested in "cancer cures" just cancer treatment!

Add that true story to your conspiracy files. America is not looking for cures of any chronic diseases.

Tom Re: Purpose of this group!!! The Cayenne comes in capsule form at40,000 HU per capsule. I take 2 a dayin the morning at breakfast. I take all my supplements at breakfast. The maker is NATURE'S WAY.Another true story... 11 weeks after mybypass surgery I was out on the road again with my sales job. I was talkingto the manager of a hotel that buys fromme and the registration desk clerk waslistening to our conversation and of coursethe manager was asking all kinds of questionsabout my surgery since she has high cholesterol. The clerk asked me, "How long ago was yourbypass?" And I again said it was eleven weeks earlier. She then said, "Let mesee your fignernails." I was puzzled andshowed them to her. She said, "They arepink." Now I am really puzzled and askedher what color should they be. She toldme that she was a cardiology student in Sri Lanka married an American and moved here and is no longer in school. But, the whole time she was studying and workingin the hospitals she never saw a bypasspatient with such good circulation as me.She said at 11 weeks typically bypasspatients have a pale color to the nailsand a pail tone to their face. I had good flesh tones and pink nails which meant that I had very good circulationand the heart was working effectively. Here is the kicker.... she asked what I was taking. I told her that I was no longer taking any prescription drugs anddropped the statin I was taking... andI listed the supplements. When I cameto Cayenne, she said, "NO WONDER!!!" Cayenne is a very good supplement for all he! art pati ents. That explained to mewhy everyone told me prior to that, thatI did not LOOK like I just had heart surgery.I had good skin tone in my face, but neverthought of looking at my finger nails. The Policosanal I am taking is from REXALLand comes in 10mg caps... small caps too.I only take one of these per day.One of these days I will list all the suppsI take... not that many any more. I havereduced it down to what I feel helps me themost. I also take NIACIN too, which was recommendedto me by a cardiologist that I met at the healthfair I mentioned. He did not like the fact thatpeople are taking supplements, but he did saythat he convinced that NIACIN was good for reducingcholesterol but most cannot take the side effectfrom the NIACIN... which are hot flashes. I takethe time released version of niacin and I havefound that there is no hot flashes with it.So... with the combo of Niacin and Policosanol Ihave found that I have a double dose of reducingcholesterol.Plus I eat more sensibly now too compared to what I was eating before my heart attack. I still sneak something from Mcs once in agreat while but not alot.My biggest down fall is I need to excercisemore but I have a bad back and a bad left kneeand whenever I try to walk my knee flairs up.So I am trying to find a way to do passiveexcercises if there are such an animal.Ed > Hi Ed -- Thanks for sharing your experiences.
