Guest guest
Can anyone give me some advice on how to talk openly with my FIL's doctor in a couple of weeks about all of the problems he's been experiencing? It will be his first visit with a neurologist at Emory and I will be going with my MIL and FIL. I want to tell the doctor some things that I don't know if my MIL will share, such as my FIL telling my brother-in-law that he saw three dogs, instead of the two that he has. He told my brother-in-law that he owns three dogs, not two. I wonder if that might have been a hallucination? I also don't know if my MIL will share examples of just how bad my FIL's memory has gotten, or how he's lost the ability to go to the bathroom by himself, as well as shower and shave. How do I tell these things to the doctor with my FIL present? I've thought about trying to find out if the doctor has an e-mail address so that I can send him some of my personal observations prior to his appointment. Thanks, April
