Guest guest
I hope that those of you who mentioned unusual ankle swelling on one side, swelling of hands and feet, and lump/tumors will go get tested for Bartonella. Have your test sent to MDL labs if possible. Anecdotally I am hearing this can be a cause. I have all of the above, tested positive for Bartonella, am being treated for it, and some of my symptoms are beginning to abate. Please strongly consider it. Guest guest
Lissy, we treated " Gulf War Syndrome " last year with a client who showed dramatic improvement. The problems seem to be now reoccurring and she will be returning this summer but she was very happy with the results. Also, make certain he is not drinking diet drinks with Aspartame which has caused problems in people similar to Gulf War Syndrome. I had the same experience myself with memory, fatique, etc. I have been off Aspartame for over a year and have shown considerable improvement, but it can cause permanent brain damage. Hi group, A concern came up at work with a client---a gentleman who seems to have significant impairments (toxicities?)following his tour. He served in the Gulf and sounds like he was exposed to even more than the average veteran's share of vacs, toxins, etc. Do any of you knowledgable folks have any thoughts as to which way I could point him (websites, chat groups, experts, etc.)??? Thanks, Lissy (who is starting to see heavy metal poison around every corner) ________________________________________________________________________

Guest guest
L'il Nora, when I got my CI a second processor was included. I thought it was standard but maybe it isn't? It is good to have a backup processor in case one dies and has to be sent in. I have both the BTE and the body processor. I have Advanced Bionics, so there is only the magnet with the long cable when I wear the body processor (nothing on the ear). I love this. I use it when I exercise. The BTE doesn't stay on when I work out. Also I use it when I wear my helmet (I drive cars on race tracks) because the BTE doesn't work well with a full-head helmet. I use it when I don't want to deal with the BTE and toupee tape (see below). I use it when I am on call because it is easier to sleep with it on (again, I have not found a way to keep the BTE on when I am sleeping). Speech sounds clearer to me on the body processor than the BTE. That is a good idea about unplugging the cable---I would unplug it at the processor, though--not at the magnet--it is a bigger deal to unplug it at the magnet (a tool is required to remove the colored cap over the magnet and cable). The BTE is better in noisy environments for me. Sometimes I like not having the body processor on my pants ( I have a Blackberry on my pants AND a pager for the hospital---I usually keep the pager in my bra just to reduce the amount of things on my pants. I have to use toupee tape to keep the BTE on. My ear is small and it keeps falling off. So I am always aware of it when I have it on. The BTE is better when I go to concerts. So I use the body processor about 50% of the time and the BTE about 50% of the time. Audrey
Guest guest
Hi Audrey, Wow thanks for the info. I think my ears are small too as I'm petite. Gosh, you are not kidding that you have to use a toupee tape to keep it secure? Doesn't that gonna look unsightly with the tape? Boy when I saw those BTE, I thougth they look huge and won't fit on my right ear. I was wondering how sturdy it is on the ear. Good thing you brought up about exercising. When I go jogging or do yoga, well it fall off? I hear from some of you, it can fall off if you are not careful. See that's why I think the body worn processor is more secure. I remember someone mentioned here about hearing mold--that you can have it made so it won't fall off? How does mold connect to the BTE? I do wonder why the processor sounds better than the BTE for some of you? Did anyone explain why? It is because of the size? Maybe the BTE (because of its compact size)is not as powerful as the body worn processor? I remember when I was in school wearin gthe FM, i hear better with the FM hook up to my hearing aid. Hey can someone tell me how you swtich programs with BTE? > > > L'il Nora, when I got my CI a second processor was included. I > thought it was standard but maybe it isn't?
