Guest guest
<< Called eosinophilic esophagitis, the condition is a marked by a buildup of >eosinophils, blood cells involved in the allergic response, in the >esophagus, the muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the >stomach. The buildup is accompanied by the classic symptoms of esophagitis, >an inflammation of the esophagus, which can make digestion so painful that >some children refuse to eat. > >> Just found the pathology report from the last endoscopy: " Sections show fragments of squamous mucosa in which there is basa cell hyperplasia. The papillae extend greater than 50% of the distance tward the mucosal surface and a mild mononuclear cell inflitrate is present within the epithelium. Occassional eosinophils are noted!!!! " Maybe this is the underlying problem?? At any rate, Dr. J. is right on with the pulmicort and nasal sprays. I wonder if fungus has been part of the problem. I was getting so pissed off reading Ferenci's reports. He said he thought Jamey's problem started as reflux, but he continued to ruminate because he likes the taste of food. It makes me sick. I swear if one more Dr. treats his care like that, I'll be ballistic. M.
