Yes, ,

I use it, and I love it! I bought mine this May, because I planned to go on a

South East Asia tour in summer; I'm a part-time musician and spent 6 1/2 weeks

performing in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, back to Malaysia and to Singapore.

During that time I used it 3 times a week in hotel rooms or at friends' places.

In hotel rooms I could train in front of large mirrors, which made it even

easier to keep an eye on the " cockpit " (without having to turn your head so much

when following the training device in action). I have a training log in which I

note down the exercises, the set resistance for each exercise, how many reps I

managed and the pauses between sets.

I have to admit that after 30 years of working out with weights, I made more

gains in respect to muscle growth and shape than in the last years!

It's not only the device, but I think it's the whole training concept behind the

isokinator. With dumbbells and barbells, there are " dead points " in a movement,

mostly at the beginning or the end, or both, in which no resistance is applied

upon the muscle. With the isokinator, the resistance is always there, at every

angle of the movement!

The barbell training which I have done for the last 10 years consisted of

so-called " abbreviated routines " , which means that my workouts were finished in

about 15-20 minutes; I did no more than 5 basic exercises, 1 set of each, such

as trap bar squats/deadlifts (a special trapezoid barbell which reduces back

stress), bench press, overhead press, pullovers and chin-ups. Usually I gained

some strength over a couple of weeks, but when I came back after two or three

weeks on the road, I could almost start from point zero again.

Now with the isokinator I came back to a training style which I used when I

started working out with weights in 1981 and which proved very effective (BTW,

my first dummbell was the " ellipse barbell " , a " fill-in " barbell also created by

Koelbel, and I followed their training chart as well): 3 training sessions a

week, 6-8 exercises, 2-3 sets for each exercise, 6-10 repetitions per set.

As for the 3 various models of the Isokinator: I bought the Classic with a

maximum resistance of 90 kg (198 lbs), but I recently ordered the Green Giant. I

can do the chest exercise with a resistance of 83 kg (183 lbs), so I need to

upgrade to the Green Giant which offers up to 180 kg (396 lbs).

I am currently in Shanghai, and I've used my isokinator last Friday, when I

arrived from Germany, Sunday, and yesterday. Tomorrow will be an off-day,

because after visiting the Music Exhibition I'll have a concert until late

night, but on Friday I will do my next workout.

Best regards,

Jens.

Just got my Isokinator. Learning how to use it, I alternate between Classic

Bullworker X5 1980's Manual Circuit Training with my 30+ year old X5,

Sit @ Home 90 day challenge DVD on a Steel-Bow, and the Isokinator. There

some IsoKinator Youtubes out there by Bert muscledesign, and Ronn uploaded an

excellent Isokinator Circuit Training Manual to the files section which I

decrypted so it can be printed out. Each one does something different and they

ALL work fine! Enjoy!

The Spaceman is made of special light aluminium alloy which you could use for

space traveling (if you ever plan to do so...), where every additional gramm or

ounce counts (it weighs only 340 gramms, 60 g less than the Classic model), and

it's a limited edition with a futuristic design. But the resistance is the same

as in the Classic (or Pro).

TG,

As far as I understand, the " Pro " is an older term for what now is called the

" Classic " . It seems to have been used in the beginning when there was the

Isokibnator Pocket (up to 45 kg only), just to distinguish both of them.
