Hi Marti,

I’ll answer what I can.

2) What dosage do you typically use for Ligaplex II?

The labeled human

dose? The other standard process products I used I cut back the dose,

and assumed so for Ligaplex II.

Ligaplex II dose (from

Ron Carsten’s book which you can get from Standard Process for ~$20 and

has all of the human products with dog doses and uses)

Cats and sm dogs: 1 cap

BID

Med dogs: 2 caps BID

Large dogs 3 caps BID

3) How many modalities will you combine in a day? I'm finding myself

in a pickle in that some clients can only come 1-2 times per week, and

there are several treatments I'd like to use in one 8 hour stay. E-

stim, UWTM, acupuncture, laser are the ones that I'm most concerned

about cramming to much into one day, but also I don't want to rotate

such that the dog/cat is only getting the treatment every 2 weeks.

I will not do more then 3

in 1 day unless they are boarding so we can spread them out.

4) Which modalities have you seen a particular synergism when

piggybacking (such as lasering after cryotherapy)?

Swim after estim

Acu can either be better

before or after the swim depending on the dog

Usually if they are crazy

dogs, do things to tire them out 1st then do things that you want

them to sit still for.

Sorry if some of these are novice questions, but I'm venturing into new

territory using more of the complementary therapies in the academic

setting and want to set a good precendent.

Hi Marti, I agree with Laurie ( boy isn't that a stretch, agreeing with one of the top gurus). As far as acupuncture, it tends to relax the dogs, so if they are older, I'll do the UWTM first and acu later or they don't have the gas to do the treadmill. I think the really hyper ones can benefit from a little cooling out with acu first. By the way, thanks again for the help with my horse. We're still in a wait and see mode after ESWT.
