Guest guest Posted September 3, 2008 Report Share Posted September 3, 2008 I am new to the group and very happy that I have found a support group. My son is 9 years old. He was first diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5. He was recently diagnosed with OCD. He is takin Vyvance for his attention span and taking prozac for the ocd. He makes noises with his nose and throat. I have asked him on numerous occassions why he makes the noises and he says that he feels like he can not breath if he does not make the noise. I do understand that but it does not help with my nerves. When the noises start to get on my nerves I feel like such a horrible mother for it. I want to help him so bad but I am stuck. He just told me today that he is getting bad grades in school because his teacher thinks he is making the noises on purpose and is sending him outside the class because of it making him miss some of the lessons.
