Guest guest
Just an FYI: I am reading through the " Low Performer's Manual " that was posted the other day, and I wanted to share a piece of information about what Zig Engelmann, author of DI programs, believes are prerequisites before starting the SRA program " Language for Learning " . I have heard all sorts of advice, and on more than one occasion that the entire ABLLS needs to be completed. That seemed like overkill, because I use L4L, and unless a program has huge holes, almost everything already would have been covered before getting to the package. My daughter is using L4L and she is not finished with the ABLLS. She is not an easy learner and it is going well. Dr. Engelmann's recommendations-- See p.131-143, Section IV, Chapter 10-- " Response Bridging Techniques " This section identifies the prerequisites for the vocabulary and vocal responding necessary to start L4L. It also gives programs to teach those prerequisites and states that 4-word phrases must be said relatively fluently before entering L4L. He cautions that this could be a process of a few months, but the tasks look like things at about the middle of the ABLLS. " The Low Performer's Manual " ---note on copyright from Zig Engelmann- " -I hold the copyright. Feel free to download and use. If you have a special use, or want to publish it, check it out with me " . http://www.zigsite.com/PDFs/LowPerfManual.pdf Slainte, Regina F
