After a few days the rough friction's returned to my Steel Bow since my earlier

silicone application, and today its yellow-intermediate spring was catching

inside. (Happily though, my Bullworker X5's still like new, and I've come to

reappreciate it.) Might the difference be that the Bullworker X5 has three

cylinders rather than two?

had for nine years or so were both a bit stiff and showing some friction, so I

sprayed some CRC Heavy Duty Silicone in each's cylinder. Its made all the

difference. Both now compress smoothly like the day I bought them.

My problems with the Steel Bow occurred only when I recently moved up to the

intermediate-yellow resistance spring for more exercises. In particular, this

spring begets more friction and " jerkiness " with some compressions and angles

than with others -- something I didn't experience when using the Bow's lighter

resistance spring. I've not encountered this with the Bullworker X5, which

unlike the two-cylinder Steel Bow, has three cylinders. Hence my thought that

the Bullworker X5 is better designed for more stable compressions at wider

ranges of angle and resistance.

last year but when changing up now to yellow it's having a bit of trouble

seating correctly the spring appears to catching I can live with it but is a

bit annoying !
