Hi, I am using the new version of the Bullworker X5.My weekly workouts consist of a combination of cardio and strength. My Bullworker will take care of the strength - eliptical and swimming will be the cardio. I have been using the basic chart with the static isometric holds for about three months. I have added a few of my own exercises as well. However, this no longer producing the results I am looking for. I am changing my Bullworker training routine to a split system - 4 days per week. Mondays and wednesdays will be chest, triceps andshoulders. Tuesdays and thursdays will be back, biceps and legs. I am going to do abs as part of the warm up routine on each of my training days. All exercises to be performed with 2-3 sets - 10 reps each with the last rep held for anisometric contraction of 10 secs. I will also

do about 30 mins cardio- three times per week. I am hopeful this will help me attain a higher level of fitness.canfieldSubject: Bullworker Routine for 2009To: bullworkerclub Received: Friday, January 9, 2009, 1:52 PM

Happy New Year!

I orginially purchased the Bullworker (brown handles and cables)

sometime around 1976. It has started to show its age lateley (just

like me), and I may be in the market to purchase one of the new

models.

I follow the original routine (from memory) and was not aware of the

latest equipment, exercise routines or wall charts until recently. I

put together the following routine using the information found on

this site and would like your input:

Mon: Chest and Back, Abs

Tues: Interval, Cardio, etc.

Wed: Shoulders and Arms, Abs

Thurs: Interval, Cardio, etc.

Fri: Legs and Back, Abs

Sat: Interval, Cardio, etc.

Sun: Rest

A. Perform each exercise 6x, holding the last rep 7 seconds

B. Perform next exercise on chart 6x holding the last rep 7 seconds

C. Repeat A and B until all exercises for the day are complete

D. Perform a second routine A, B, C

I understand some Bullworker exercises target multiple muscle groups,

and this is approach does not vary significantly from what is

contained on this site.

Here are the goals of this approach:

1. Concentrate on circuit training rather than strength training

2. Use five to eight selected exercises that target each primary

muscle group listed

3. Improve fitness and health versus strength gains

Questions:

1. What kind of results have you had with the original routines?

(should I bother with the proposed approach and use the routines

posted)

2. Do you think the proposed approach makes sense given the findings

from the research?

3. If you have had success with a modified routine, will you share

your approach?

4. Would anyone commit to working out using the standard chart or

their own routine and compare the results?

Thanks for your help and let's make 2009 the best ever.

Thanks for the update. I think I will increase the hold on the last rep to 10 seconds as well.
