Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 Does anyone here know the risks involved in someone with PD and LBD undergoing surgery? My FIL has been having trouble urinating and had a cystoscope yesterday. They found scar tissue in his urethra from prostate surgery years ago. Anyhow, he's going to have it " roto- rootered " in a couple of weeks. I'm guessing they'll have to put him under general anesthesia because he shakes so badly, but it might be local. He's on Sinemet and Exelon, as well as an asthma nebulizer. How dangerous could a procedure like that be for him, if, at all? I've read some things about people having surgery and their PD symptoms get worse or they never rebound from it. I'm not sure about the LBD symptoms. Thanks so much!
