Hi, Bob. It's been a while since my post. The new Classic and Steel Bow package

arrived last Wednesday so I've only had a chance to give them a good try three

times so far. At first I wasn't sure if I needed to get the Classic to replace

my green handled BW, but was right, I really like the new Classic.

The SB is great. I watched the video and then decided to follow the chart. Years

ago I probably would have jumped right in and started with at least 50 or more

reps. But seeing that I'm 60 and have only been walking and biking for exercise

I figured I should start with 10. I hadn't used the old BW too much in recent

years. Well, the second day I went to 20 reps and I'm sure I'll start doing more

reps soon. 20 didn't seem like enough today. I know I'll be using the SB for a

long time.

As for the new Classic, I'm not sorry I made the purchase. It's more

comfortable to use than the green handled BW. My first pull on the ropes told me

I won't be trying the Arnold test anytime soon, if ever. Coupled with the BW

extensions it gives me a great workout. The Classic and SB combo really

compliment each other. If you already have the SB, get the Classic. I don't

think you'll regret it, especially if you enjoy using your green model. If you

don't have ithe SB , consider getting the package. It's a good deal.

Bob O congratulation on getting your bullworkers now the fun begins when you

start to become stronger and more comfortable using the new equipment you might

like to try this. I like to combine them in a work out it helps cut down on

spring changes not that it's a problem .

I just like the classic for the legs during the sit home for some thing

different or rest it on my knee for archer pull or any of them just to add to

the mix swapping around etc any how just and idea .The sit at home is perfect

routine to follow cheers mate have fun!

Thanks for the tip, . I did use the Classic afterwards for the leg

exercises, but I didn't think about using it instead of switching out the

springs -good idea. I probably won't switch the spring until I start doing more

reps on most of the SB exercises. Bottom line - using both the BW and SB makes

for a gret workout.

By the way, good job with the videos. Now I'm anxiously waiting for the Iso-Bow

to arrive.

Hey Bob,

Thanks for the update!!!

I don't have a steel bow and might like to get one. I wouldn't want to decide at

a later date to get a Classic so am trying to figure out if the Classic was that

much worth it over the green handle and get the whole package now like you did.

If I remember correctly, you also get a video for the SB in the package BUT the

video is extra when you buy only the SB by itself.

Hi, Bob.The package also has the extension ropes. I haven't used them in my workout yet, but will probably use them in a couple of days. As for the Classic - I've never tried the "Arnold" test with the green handle BW, but could usually do a pretty good compression with it. Maybe it got easier as it aged? I bought it when I was 19 or 20, over 40 years ago. With the Classic you can quickly tell it takes a lot more effort to compress. But it feels very comfortable, especially with the handles. My old BW was very usable, but the cover on the cables seemed to have shrunk. The metal cables were visible at one end of the BW. The power meter scale was gone so there was no way to measure increase in compression. Although I really didn't need to get a new one, I knew I would like one and would probably get one eventually. The

clincher for me was the extra items in the package and a little overall savings. The Classic is very smooth. I don't regret the purchase. As for the SB, it really is a different workout. If I had to choose between having only a SB or BW I honestly don't know which I'd choose. Probably the SB because of the 3 different springs, but I would miss the BW. It would be like having to choose between barbells or dumbbells. Either way, I'm glad I resurrected the green handled BW a few weeks ago. I enjoy these at home workouts more than going to the gym. I found myself doing more bikes and treadmills at the gym, and less time on the weight machines. Now my daily walks or bicycle rides feel even better after using the old BW for a couple of weeks. If this keeps up I may end up canceling the gym membership. Have a great workout,Bob O.

I gave the Arnold a go recently after working with the isobow I could only get

110 for a long time now I hit 160 short hold it really is a beast to compress I

have a old browny I'll have do a comparison . I am going to the hardware store

to get some eye bolts and mount some in the wall to hang the extension off and

maybe a door . I already have a over head one for surpension angle which is

interesting . And have also been using the Sierra hook door anchor with bow

extension which handy item I am finding a lot of use for the extension you got

play around with it a bit but it's worth the effort people.

Hey Bob O,

I found that the cable on the green handle can rotate through the handles. You

can shift the break in the cable cover to sit inside the handle where it won't

be seen. Same thing happened to mine.

Hey bob if you could find a pastic shower curtain ring or similar you could use

that on your green handle and divide the length of tube up evenly and mark up a

scale with a marker pen just and idea cheers!

Bob and , thanks for the pointers regarding my old " greenie " . I may try an

overhaul on it. I'm enjoying the Classic right now, so it'll be a while before

I do anything soon. I like the challenge the Classic is giving me. Boy, there

is a big difference between the two models. Yet I still like using the Green BW

for some of the overhead and behind the back exercises.
