Guest guest
I am an ABA Therapist and I think that it is unfortunate that insurance doesn't cover the cost. Unfortunately, the rate charged for these services is necessary in order to make a living. I am not getting rich from this profession. I do it because I love it. As an independent contractor, after you factor in insurance costs, material costs, driving time to on site, and gas costs, it isn't a large salary. In my state, a child that is part of a school district that has an official diagnosis on the spectrum is entitled to services that would allow that child to make progress, whether that be a private school placement, home ABA services, or public school with supplemental ABA services. Have you checked with your district about that? You might also try putting an ad on craigslist or ABAconnections. There's a chance you might find someone who will work with your son in addition to another job for less money. Good luck! I wish you well --- tinarichard1970 <tinarichard1970@...> wrote: > I live in Spring, TX. I am a single mother raising 2 > children, one > being a 7 year old boy with Autism.
