The device works very well, other than for that..... > When exercising I never pay any attenion to the numbers or the ring but have from time to time noticed deeper compressions on some exercises as I advance as a matter of fact I lifted the ring on steel bow up and slide it to the end of the handle out of the way not that I don't like it but to busy getting on with job to worry about the progress meter cheers mate good luck with your x5!
