Interesting that you should post this.A long while ago I wrote some ideas down

that were posted on the forum regarding what I called I believe- Accumulative

Exercise. That is that rather than do a set program there is still value in

accumulating exercise during the day.I proposed that this might be a whole lot

better than simply doing nothing and your body was still working. There may of

course be limitations to this although I think my original proposal was framed

as -having value when time is tight.I do not recall that at the time anyone

responded to the idea.Ed

Gentlemen,Old story... in college I was a bell-hop at a hotel.Check-ins were probably 2-3 an hour... so we carried the bags as weights... arms forward; back; out.I can personally attest that the results were impressive in contrast to the time I spent just carrying the luggage "normally." It is the same concept Atlas advocated: any time is better than no time and it does add up. Spot training works... maybe not as well or efficient as a prolonged exercise period, but nothing to bad-mouth...and that applies to any exercise device, but convenience is a definite factor in implementation. I was just advocating a few weeks ago on another forum how I do isometric type

contractions almost anywhere, anytime and even right in front of people while

we're having a conversation (without them ever knowing) while standing in line

for a cashier and even while I'm working as a construction electrician. I feel

these little spurts make a difference on top of my regular exercise routine

which I try to keep between 30-60 minutes of whatever I happen to do that day.

(No set routine. always mixing it up)

Well gents my job is pretty physical as a linesman even thou we don't climb as

much as we use to but still a lot of lifting bending. Reaching thats one reason

I try keep fit but I also see work and day to day movement as exercise that's

we're using Isobow comes in it helps keep the body mobile in that manner also

say I have to lift a bag of cement for pole which has a wiegjt of 20kg x3bags I

always stop quickly and do a few squats to the amusement of the young blokes I

work with or when passing the rails on the side of truck use the bars for a

quick dip or a few quick curls with a old heavy insulator etc it helps pass

the day a keep my head in the exersise zone.

Yes I do isometric contraction work also just using the body at odd moments

during the day{or night when on hospital night shift}I will often do thigh

contractions whilst for example waiting for a bus and no one would be aware of

it.I also do exercise lifting imaginary weights with tension put into the

movement. The two influences here for me being Harry Wong who has been mentioned

recently on this forum and the former body-builder,strong man and martial artist

Mike Daytons Chi Mind Control approach.
