Guest guest
Congratulations to you! would love to know just how you came to get off the medications after your surgery and rely on only supplements? Is there any place to get these details....? I have been on statins forever, it seems. I have never had a heart attack ; but very high numbers and lots of family members on my paternal side (my Dad and his brothers all died from cardiac events in their 60's (my Dad was 61). They were all smokers....along with various other risk factors. I am a 63-yr-young female who has always been active; I play tennis twice weekly, go hiking and really try to keep moving. I did have one (1) abnormal ekg 4 yrs ago so the cardiologist did an angiogram..I have blockage in 2 coronary arteries and was put on nitroglycerin, along with my blood pressure meds., 80 mg. Lipitor daily along w/Lopid twice daily. Also, I have high triglycerides (I read about cinnamon on this website and added it to my cereal daily...I had a remarkable drop of 182 pts. of course, there are so many factors involved here (the previous test was Sept. 05 ;the latest Apr 24/06. I only started the cinnamon a couple of months ago. Sorry for the length of this. Do you have any info I might use? I have been taking policosanol, C0 Q10 100 mg. daily, along with folic acid, B complex., B12. Vit. C. Would love to hear from you and Thanks for starting this site! Guest guest
Betty...believe it or not the cinnomin may have just dropped your triglycerides quickly just as you stated. I have a friend who took policosanol for only 30 days and his cholesterol dropped 60 points. He was amazed. So... I am not surprised the triglycerides dropped for you. The way I got off of the meds was just going cold turkey. After I read during my research on supplements and meds it was a NO BRAINER to me. It is also amazing how many people who I have met within the medical community have told me... " way to go " when it comes to sticking with the supps. Pharmaceutical drugs is only for profits and nothing more. There are many things out there that can help you without the use of a drug. Don't get me wrong...there are MANY drugs that are very good for people and I support those. But, from what I have seen so far, most of the stuff prescribed for heart disease is garbage and are heavily marketed and are killing or maming people every day....but you never hear or read about it in the news. Take Cayenne, policonsanol, cinnimon and taper off the statins and you too will be drug free very soon. If you have taken a statin for a great length of time you need to taper off for your system is now addicted to it. Keep taking the folic acid too...very good for heart patients. All I can say is spend some time online doing your own research. It is amazing what you will find. And if you were to dig deep into the FDA web site and do a search for some of the common statins and find out what happened with them...that is very scary. My motto right now is... " If it has been approved by the FDA, I run away. " Compare the number of FDA approved drugs that has been taken off the market because of deaths or other physical defects to that of the number of supplements that has been taken off the market. And the FDA and the medical community keeps telling people to NOT take supplements because they are not tested and you dont know what you are taking. What a joke!!!!! Even with the years of testing and the drug is approved (through pressure of the worlds largest lobby group) people die and become physically and mentally crippled because of the tested and approved drugs. So sad that the American and world public believes the marketing they see in magazines, TV and radio today. Sorry for me tying so much... but this stuff really gets me upset how the statins and other such heart meds are being forced down the throats of the public by drs. and the FDA. When the FDA demands the product to be taken off the market they do not even say sorry...not even an OOPS. Heartless!!!!
