Lyrica is supposed to be a substitute for Neurontin...and is supposed to

work better. My pain doc is talking about trying me on it...although from

what I have heard from other people, it does make you sleepy for awhile,

until you adjust...but that can be a blessing, when you don't sleep well

through the pain...LOL...

My doc is checking to see if my insurance will cover the Lyrica, before he

puts me on it...he wants to make sure that I'm not paying a million bucks

for it, because the insurance I have won't cover it...he's good that way.

My insurance does cover the Neurontin, so that's what I take at the present

time.

Lyrica works for some people, but not for others...but it's always worth a

try, and if it doesn't work, then you let the pain doc know, and you change

directions...

Hope it works out for you! It seems that most people who take Neurontin..

if it works for them, the Lyrica works even better...at least, that's what I

ve gleaned from those who switched to it...if Neurontin doesn't work,

sometimes the Lyrica doesn't either, but it's always worth a try, because

some have had really good results switching to it.

Good luck with it!

My Neurologist and Primary Physician just today put me on Lyrica, and are

weaning me off the Neurontin. I hate taking new meds, and tomorrow Im

getting my new 2 day warddrobe. A portable EEG machine I get to wear till

Thursday...because they think Im having seizures now. *sighs*

I will write more later all, I am still trying to take this all in right

now. Well goodnight
