Looking back on my Dad's LBD, his final stage began approximately 5-6 months

before his passing. It was a slow but very noticeable and steady decline until

the last 2 months. His decline was noticeable by the day then. He came down

with a UTI and when he entered the NF it was decided that no measures would be

taken to prolong his life, including antibiotics. It is my opinion that almost

any infection will progress the LBD. It took Dad 32 days to pass away after he

was diagnosed with the UTI.

Every case of LBD is different. For some ppl the last stage is rather long

(7+months) or rather short (a matter of days). Many of us here have experienced

the loss of a LO and each of us will have a different time-frame of the

latter/last stage. Hang in there and continue to ask questions!!
