Guest guest
Hi , I think I did this one not too long ago - funny, I didn't notice the bad music but I do workout w/ the tv turned down very low b/c my DD's bedroom is right under my workout area!Donna To: exercisevideos Sent: Thu, April 21, 2011 10:42:46 AMSubject: The FIRM Ultimate Fat Burning Workout I just got this one in a trade last week and did it today. Alison leads it and although it has some 4-limbed sections, it is definitely a cardio workout. You are constantly moving for 40 minutes in this one. There's no other equipment except 3-5 lb. dumbbells for the 4-limbed sections. I used 3s and that was fine, especially for the first time through and because some of the movements are quick. The workout has you go through a cardio routine that she continually adds on to and then switches to a 4-limbed routine that follows the same add-on building, then a new cardio routine and then a new 4-limbed (and a few more times in that kind of cycle). In each routine, because she's adding on as she goes, she's also taking it from the top over and over which was great for me because I'm slow to learn routines. I did not get bored and usually got the routine down before she started a new one. The segments are all different styles, one is kickboxing which I really liked and was able to put a lot into once I got it down. Another is dance (samba and I don't know what else) and I hated it because the movements were more complicated and the music was HORRIBLE! It sounded like a woman whining REALLY loudly throughout the entire thing. It had nice drums going on too but I really could have done without the vocals. I almost took out the DVD because that one seemed to go on forever and I couldn't concentrate on the steps because the screechy whine was so distracting. Luckily, I stuck with it because I was rewarded with the very fun kickboxing segment after that (the music is a lot better too). This one is with a group of 4 or 5 backgrounders. I noticed Allie and Annie and others whose names I can't remember. There's no beginner modifier and there is some optional high impact, especially in the beginning (she tells you it is optional but I didn't notice anyone showing low impact). Overall, I thought this was really good, except that one section and will do it again.
Guest guest
It was the really dancey segment. I will need to turn my TV for this one next time! :-) I do like the music loud, especially when everyone is gone! I do not do 4:30 AM workouts (obviously). I tried it a few times, it is too early anyway and I had to turn the TV down too. I'm finding I really like having the music to help push me along so one more reason to not work out in the predawn hours for me! (Except for that one segment in this workout anyway!)
