Guest guest
HI , This does seem like a faster than usual decline. My first instinct is to check into her meds. What meds is your mom taking? This can make a big difference in our Loved ones. Courage
Guest guest
Hi My mother also went downhill very quickly. She was living alone in her home of almost 50 years when I found her on the kitchen floor one morning severly dehydrated. She was hospitalized for 4 days and never returned to her normal self. She could no longer walk without help and I had to quit my job and become her full time caregiver. So I do know that when a person with LBD has a tramatic event such as being hospitalized or breaking a hip or having surgery of some kind, it can be life changing for everyone involved. For her there was no going back. She has continued to go downhil ever since. She has bed sores that I am continually trying to deal with now. She just barely walks. I use the wheelchair as much as possible now. I feel the next step is probably complete bed rest. It is the saddest thing I have ever gone through. Even my father's death due to cancer was so much easier than this. And all this just started in May 2005. Sorry to not have better news. Hang in there.
