Guest guest
Hello Jacqui....I would like to know the answer to Courage's question too. I am having a time and a half with my Uncle and wonder what the next step will be? Purple toes, swallowing problems, water dribbles out of his mouth when he takes a drink and he says he can swallow " just fine " , and now he is not sleeping at night and wants me to take him to the Mall so he can go for a walk! This is at night when the Mall is closed! Getting pretty weird. He did take a fall yesterday morning and hit the side of his head against his bedroom door. Has been " strange " ever since. Of course he says he is fine and carries on as if nothing has happened. Each person with LBD is certainly very different. Peace to all and Happy New Year! Guest guest
Thanks for the info Stevie. My mom is in the later stages. She is completely bed-ridden but we have one of the extra poofie wheelchairs that converts into a bed so that we can get her out of her room and out and about with the other residents. I'm going to ask that her feet be elevated as much as her contracted knees will allow and hopefully this will help some. Mom ususally has very high BP but I'm wondering now if this hasn't changed? Guest guest
Courage, My Dad's feet began turning purple approximately 4-5 months before his death (Nov 26, 05). The doctor told us that the change in color was due to his circulation slowing down. They were worse when he sitting up his wheelchair but would turn a little more natural color once he had reclined in his bed for a bit. Toward the end, his feet and his hands/fingers turned purple due to the lack of/slowing down of the circulation no matter what position he was in. Hope this is helpful. na in NC --------------------------------- Yahoo! Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Add photos, events, holidays, whatever.
