Just out of curiosity how much does CST cost for those of youreferring clients for this treatment?

$180 for the first hour long session.

$80 for 1/2 hour f/u sessions. This is not covered by insurance.

She has babies coming at least 2x per week.

It is expensive, b ut I can't ask this person to jeopardize her financial situation. She does give discounts to military (we have a lot of those here in SD) to WIC families and to anyone for whom I recommend she consider helping out.

However, there is a CST therapist who does work on babies. However, she is not familiar with post frenotomy babies, does not work in the mouth and only schedules 15 minute sessions one time per week.

Several clients have worked with another DC who does CST and he is having some success, but it seems to be taking a very long time for him to accomplish it. However, he is a little cheaper. But he only schedules one visit per week.

This is just not enough. Most of these babies need more frequent txs to sustain any progress that is made. Had one mom whose baby was now opening her mouth wide, comfortable latch for 3 days. The CS therapist got sick, two appointments were canceled and the baby went back to slurping on the breast, pain requiring again using the NS. since Dr. Chelf is back and baby has had regular txs, this baby has now 'graduated' from CST and any Bfing aids.
