Hi All,

Some of you will remember that my mother had what I called purple toes.

It turns out that mom had a blood clot underneath her nail bed and had

to have surgery on Thursday - her toe had to be split in two to relieve

the pressure. This is something to look out for so if your LO's toes

look purple and bruised and the skin around the toe nails look red and

puffy then you need to have this looked at right away.

I am going to be speaking to the doctor at the LTCF and ask him why he

didn't act faster on this - they kept telling me that it was blood

pressure problems but it just didn't sit well with me. Finally, my

sister and I got the pediatrist (can't remember how to spell this?) to

come in and she did the surgery right away.
