Guest guest
Sandie, Yes, this winter has been very strange. It has been one of our warmest, yet we have set some new record lows. Thanks for thinking of my Mother. I gather that your Father was similar to my Mother in anxiety and agitation. We have just raised my Mother's Zoloft to 150 mg. How high was your Father's dose? I'm wondering if we can go any higher. More update on my Mother: Many people are amazed at the rapid decline in their LO which is often caused by drugs or operations. While that is the case for some, it wasn't with my Mother. My Mother went from being functional to non-functional over a week-end. This was before she was taking any medication that might cause problems and she had not recently had an operation. Since that rapid decline, she has leveled off thanks in part to the Exelon, Namenda, Seroquel, and Zoloft. Mentally and emotionally she is much better than she was 2 year ago, but physically she has declined. She sleeps a lot more and can't really walk much. In recent months, she has had more anxiety and agitation. We first raised her Seroquel since she was hallucinating and now we have raised her Zoloft since she was crying. It's a constant struggle to try and keep her calm. We have my Mother in a nursing home and even though she hates being there, we couldn't handle her at home. My Father and I have a much more loving relationship with her now that some of the pressure is off. We can actually spend quality time with her. We also bring her home on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. in Dallas > > > > > > > > > > We tried Lexapro and Celexa(I think that is what it was called) and > I didn't > > notice much difference.
