Guest guest
HI Sue, I am , and I live in Orlando, Florida. I also have a friend who lives in ENID oklahoma, do u know where that is?? anyway, your posts sounds like how I describe my self with some of your problems. I am also 53 yrs old. and I am a chronic pain patient. I have arthritis throughout my entire body, my parents and sister also have it. I live in chronic pain, even with the meds, the meds, they do take the edge off of the horrible pain that I live with. I know that there are other people who have worse pain than I do, but I am just telling you about my pain. I also have COPD, due to having pnemonia at age 37, and then getting pleurisy and had to have lung surgery due to getting an infection, I was in ICU for one month and I did almost die. They had the priest come to give me the last rites, but back then I was strong, I wasnt ready to go yet, my kids were about 10 and 11 and well...they needed me so I guess I fought so hard to live, thats what the docs tell my family. I have two bad knees, but havent yet had surgery on them. My parents and two sisters have all had knee replacements, but I am scared to have my knees done, I have had so much surgery, dont want any more, I have had back surgery many years ago, and neck surgery with a bone graft and a metal plate with screws and a fusion. I have neuropathy in both feet so bad some nites I just cannot move or have anything touch my feet as the pain is horrendous. I have some lido derm patches to use for the feet, nothing else, and I have tried so many things with too many bad after effects , and so nothing else works for my neuropathy. Just last nite I had a bad nite with my feet, and my neck also. And on monday I was at my Primary care doctor for my pnemonia vaccine, and my arm is killing me, since yesterday, hurts so bad, aches and last nite it was really hot, my skin on the arm where the injection was. anyway, with all that I have wrong, I dont go too many places, and I am on SSDI, permanently, also I have stomach problems too. I take a pill for my stomach problems. I am fairly new here also, I just wanted also to say to the others who have mentioned the scooter and medicare, only wanting to give you one for inside. I know that. Yes that is what they say, for inside, this is absurd, most people need it for when they go places, and I dont use mine inside, except for if I have a bad neuropathy day and I live in a very small duplex and really for inside, I can use my cane, the walker is too cumbersome, and hold onto the walls from going to a different room. when I got my scooter, they mentioned inside, I said ok, didnt lie, as I could if I want to get it in here, its small but anyway, next day the scooter store drove up the where I was living and brought it for me, and they saw how small it was inside, besides the delivery people are only delivery people they could care less if you need it for inside or out. anyway, I use my scooter for 99 percent of uses OUTSIDE. If I didnt havve that, it would be bad as I do need it as I can not walk far, even with the cane, OH I may walk, far from the house, but I wouldnt be able to get back home again. LOL anyway, I just wanted to mention that, about the inside use of scooters. Medicare may have really gotten stricter in the past six years since I have had mine, but I think mostly their policies are about the same. It couldnt hurt to try to apply. just a thought, and my doctor knew I was going to use it for outside use more th an inside and I still got mine. just my few cents here. anyway. Sue, it is nice to meet you and I am hoping that your pain isnt too too terrible tonite.Sue are you haveing steroid type shots injected into your knees, for the pain. ? I have had them before, I also have them for my back when its acting up really bad, my doc does them for my back in ets of three, one each week. they work, and this is when my disc is popped out and about to rupture, the shots help my body out and the disc gently goes back into place. Anyway, I wish u good luck w ith your shots, and your knees and everything else that you have wrong. Do you have oxygen at home, or do u use an inhaler at all??I use oxygen at nite if needed and also do have an inhaler with me at all times. Ok, nice getting to know you and telling you more about myself. Take care, Love, denise in orlando, florida Sue VanHorn wrote: Hello everyone: My name is Sue and I'm new to the group. I thought I would tell you a little about myself. I'm 53 years old. I live in Oklahoma. I have had arthuris for about 20 years now. My mother had it and so did my grandmother's. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't have some kind of pain. I have had 3 knee surgery's on my left knee and about to go for another one on my right knee. The last surgery on my left knee didn't work. So I'm scared to do it on my right one. The doctor is giving me shots in my left knee to help with the pain. So far it is helping some. A lot better then what it was anyway. I go back tomorrow for another shot. I'm also a Dibetic with nerve damage in my feet and legs that keep me up many nights with the pain. I have C.O.P.D. which is a lung disease and it keeps me from walking to far at a time. I have C.H.F. ( heart problems) I have high blood pressure. Ulsurs in my stomach with a hernia and a blood blister on my stomach to that acts up now and then. I have some other things wrong with me to but won't bore you with everything. lol I hope to get to know everyone and get to talk to you all soon. Please feel free to write me if you wish. grandma_loves_X_8@....
