Has anyone seen a muscle gun for sale recently? I see them overseas in Germany,

but will not sip to US. Does anyone have a lead on the muscle gun to buy?

Thanks.

Below is a link to a review of the Muscle Gun that someone made on amazon.com.

Thanks!>Certainly an interesting looking device. You are not the only one to have wondered about it either.I wonder whether it is an improvement on just using elastic resistance which I do so already alongside Bullworker and a few other well established portable exercise devices when I am unable to hit the weight room.I'm very fond of my Bullworkers though and I would have to be very much persuaded to purchase a Muscle Gun if it did not offer me some very distinct advantages that I could not find either with Bullworkers and other devices-chest expanders, powertwisters, rubber tubing etc.I shall watch this spot carefully.Ed

It would appear that Bullworker is a much better investment. Bullworkers last

forever.

At some point in time the elastic/rubber straps on the Muscle Gun will

deteriorate.

Gentlemen,

I own and have used a Muscle Gun.

I believe the best term to describe this is "Shoulder Blaster."

This will work your shoulders "and more" if you are not careful.

However, the main function is pulling... there is no natural "pushing" with this.

After 2 years of use, my harpoon rubber started to crack.

With the amount of tension used to expand it, I would not want the band to snap during use.

I use it periodically, and the crack gets bigger.

I enjoyed it and now just look at it.

Respectfully,

Bullworker

Thank you for your candid opinion.Bullworker does indeed seem to be

the best of the various Koebel inventions.Nice to see that you don't take the

view that everything he ever did was a work of inspired genius. If he only ever

had one truly inspired invention and that happened to be the Bullworker that is

enough for me and posterity.I do not think that I am curious enough now to want

to own a Muscle Gun.

Thanks for the input!

I have been thinking about purchasing the Muscle Gun as well, but I read on the

website of " Newbody.de " (one of various websites run by Koelbel Training

Research), that they offer replacement straps, which just indicates to me that

they are not built for eternity. Here you can order the new harpoon rubber

straps in 2 different resistance grades:

http://www.newbody.de/koelbel/products/produkt_de_1011_extra.php4

(BTW, there is another, obviously older website of Koelbel's at

http://www.body-star.com which features only the Muscle Gun and none of the

other training devices)

However, I do own Koelbel's last invention, the " Isokinator " and think it's just

great! I bought it, because as a musician I often travel abroad and don't have

an opportunity to train with weights.

I used it during my 6 1/2 week summer tour through South East Asia and made more

progress (as far as the mirrors in the various hotel rooms showed) in these few

weeks than I made with my low volume training routine (trap bar

deadlift/overhead press/chin ups) I've done in the last years. It especially

works the shoulders and arms (biceps and triceps are working against each other

in one exercise) very hard.

The principle behind the isokinator is to do an isometric, but then move this so

called " power block " through a whole range of motion (= isokinetic). It seems to

be more effective than working out with dumbbells, because the resistance is

constant throughout the entire range of motion.

But I consider buying a Bullworker again (I owned one in the early 1980's along

with the Koelbel " Ellipse Dumbbell " and the " Powerman 3 " ) in order to add some

variety to my training, especially for the pressing movements. With the

Isokinator, pressing can only be done in a way that you cross your arms (similar

to the chest exercise for the muscle gun). It works, but the handles

unpleasantly cut in the hands if you use a very high resistance, so I think the

handles of a Bullworker are more comfortable for this kind of pressing movement

for chest and abs.

Best regards,

Jens.
