Guest guest
Hello Nick ( & welcome) My Mum was diagnosed with LBD in January of this year after having an " episode " that landed her in the hospital. Prior to that there were some indications that she might have Alzheimers or Parkinsons. Just a word of caution regarding Revistagmine, also known as Exelon. This was the first drug my Mum used (back several years ago when the AD diag happened). Mum was really excited about using it as she had read all kinds of positive reports about it being able to slow down the AD progression. Mum was paranoid about becomming like her father who had AD. There is lots of information on the web about Excelon and encouraging case studies. Unfortunately for Mum, Excelon made her so naseous she couldn't do anything. She tried everything to make it work, full stomach, empty stomach, anti-nauseants (gravol) and eventually she had to stop taking it. We had not been warned in advance of this possible side-effect, but upon invesigation on the web, it is quite common but it usually subsides. Good luck with it - I truly hope it helps slow things down for your Dad. (CG to Margaret aged 75, diag Jan 05) > --- nickmyall <nickmyall@y...> wrote: > > > Hello, my name is Nick Myall.
