Guest guest
Hee hee! Hi, I'm rather new here, and I finally got my first taste of raw milk today. I found out that a local health food store carries raw milk from a local dairy, so I bought some. I was dismayed to discover that there was no cream on top. I guess it was skimmed off, as the same dairy sells butter (not raw) through the store. I liked the raw milk, and it didn't effect me near as much as store milk does- I'm lactose intolerant. I was very pleased to not get too sick after, from all the mucous that usually forms. Anyway, that may be too much info for my first real post. :-) I bought a gallon, but we're not big milk-drinkers. We use every other form of dairy- cheese, butter, cream, yogurt, etc. So now I need to turn this milk into other stuff. Can't do cream or butter, obviously. (phooey!) Is there a recipe in the files for making raw milk yogurt?? I've been told over and over that it can't be done, because of the enzymes. I'd like to prove them wrong. I'd also like to find a better source for dairy here in SC. I want the cream!! I feel so cheated. I know of a goat farm fairly close, but I've heard that goat milk is naturally homogenized, so I wouldn't get any cream there, either. I enjoy learning from all of you!
