Guest guest
Darrell, Stay motivated..remember your body is changing all the time. Sometimes it's hard to see it yourself because when you look in a mirror, you are literally on top of it. Some winners didn't notice results until the last couple of weeks so keep going...and don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to other people. Everyone's body is different - so everyone gets different results. About eating 10 times a day...hmm...your bodily systems need rest too you know, just like your muscles do. Why not stick to just 6 meals? Keep on going...you will see results. Oh and don't forget, ALL results count. Little ones become big ones and so it goes. Good Luck, Lean. Guest guest
Darrell, If you are trying to gain lean muscle weight, why are you only have half a Myoplex? That doesn't sound like enough calories to support the growth you are looking for. ~ Laury

Guest guest
I asked EAS why their prices are so expensive and I got a very decent answer. They don't think it's right to compete with their retailers...so they charge the suggested retail price....while their buyers/retailers will give discounts because they buy wholesale. - In a message dated 08-Feb-00 10:46:07 Eastern Standard Time, dlweav@... writes: << Laury, Bill charges far too much for his products therefore, I mix half of a myoplex with the whey so I get the same amount of protein and I eat carbs to promote muscle growth. darrell >>
Guest guest
Darrell, This is just a thought - but it's how I feel. It doesn't do you any good to keep listening to such negative stuff. For every system you can think of, there are people who will put it down. For every successful person, there are others who will try to put him/her down. If you decide BFL is for you, commit to it. It's only 12 weeks of your life anyway. If after listening to others you feel it isn't, then you lose nothing by giving it up. BFL is about having a confident mindset and filling your mind with other people's doubts and misgivings will only work against you. Lean. Guest guest
Kirk, As a rule of thumb you should be consuming about 1.5 grams of protein per day per bodyweight and about 1.0 gram of carbs per pound of body weight for the goals YOU are describing. Just try to balance your PORTIONS per meal to this. I think you may be getting too many carbs. DLW:Why do you feel I'm getting too many carbs? I do understand that you want to pack on the muscle but by eating too frequently you may only be burning the carbs you consume as energy and are not dipping into your fat cells for energy, which you have to do to drop your body fat. Just wondering - what is your current routine for doing cardio and what time of day? - Are you following the BFL workout routine? DLW:I buy my suppliments , (Mr. Natural Utah) who works for the Suppliment Warehouse. He feels has the following feelings on the BFL workout: a. It's designed mainly for sedintary people who haven't been working out (e.g., the only one exercise per body part and the three days of cardio) b.Due to the workout being designed as it is, someone such as myself who has been working out for several years and whose muscles are used to being taxed (I'm a triathlete and mountaineer) I can take working major muscle groups 2x's a week (chest/tri; back/bi's; legs/shoulders) and doing 3 exercises for each major group e.g., Chest: flat, incline, & decline bench etc) c. I'm not overweight and already have 14% bodyfat which, (though I don't agree) most sports trainers will say in the extremely athletic range. Due to this, suggested that I only do cardio 2x's a week and follow a more intense work out schedule. I highly doubt that anyone who has won the BFL only worked out 3 hours a week; you would have to be Nietzsche's Uberminch to get the kind of results that you see in the BFL video. - Are you taking Betagen or some other form of HMB? - Are you taking creatine? DLW: I am not taking Betagen. I am taking the following suppliments: L-Carnitine EAS Phosphagen 325 grams Omega Twin Flax & Borage Oil 12 fl oz Tribulus More Than a Multiple Vitamin 120 Duotabs BIO BioX Bars 12 Chocolate 21 grm Protein Myoplex Plus - Do you know your current body fat to lean muscle numbers compared to when you started? I haven't had it checked since I started; I will get it done soon. Remember as Bill said, its no longer trial and error. He has given us a PROVEN program that works. Most of us have been through the trial part of working out most of our lives and we didn't see much of a change. Think about it. If you workout at a local gym, look at the people, they look the same month after month, year after year. Sure some subtle changes but usually nothing drastic. Sure people lose fat but they also lose any muscle with it, I was the same. When I found this program I had to ask myself " why do I put in this effort and not get the maximum results in return? " That's when I decided to turn to the BFL lifestyle. It's a proven method and I deserve to get the best results for my efforts, as we all do. Kirk DLW: I would be interested to hear from anyone in the group who may have competed in bodybuilding to see if they would concure with what I've been told about working out. Guest guest
Hiya Darrell, I can't say I blame you for being skeptic - and I know it's hard to believe things when your scientific background makes you to inclined to prove first, believe second!! Maybe one of the reasons why scads of bodybuilders don't follow this program is that it is just about the opposite of everything that they have read or believed in the past. After all, if it takes you years to build a great body and you meet someone who says he'll do it in 12 weeks, wouldn't you be a bit pissed?? Also Bill himself is fairly much a " new boy " in bodybuilding and you know how much resistance goes with people who have a different take to the " old boys. " Why is Mr. ands Mrs. Average doing the Challenge? One reason I guess would be because they don't want to spend the hours in the gym that 'real' bodybuilders do. Like myself for example, I want to have my best body but I also want a life! I think the dynamics involved in winning races, triathlons, etc. are very different to the principles of this program. Running, biking and swimmming are all intensely aerobic sports and I agree, you won't get far by training for them in an hour a week. For a start, you'd have zero stamina. This program starts and ends from a different perspective to aerobic training. Have you seen the Body for Life video about the winners? I know anyone can easily be fooled but all of these people seem so genuine. The Brunners who won the couples category even gave away all their prize money - and their's is just one story. If you haven't got copies of Bill's videos, you really should try to see them. They are free and extremely motivating. Don't forget either, that the winners achieve extraordinary results, it might take you more than one Challenge to achieve YOUR goals. There's nothing wrong with you being skeptical Darrell, an inquiring mind is a huge positive asset in life. And of course, there's always one way to see exactly what can happen in 12 weeks, just keep on keeping on! Good Luck, Lean.
