I know this definitely caught my attention. The next question for me though is how complex will the choreography be? I like high impact but really have to be in the right place for the constant jumping in some workouts so I don't do those often. However, as fun as some of her step workouts might be, I don't do them not so much because of the impact but more because of the choreography. So I'm very interested in these but will be waiting to hear about the complexity before I jump on the bandwagon.

I, too, have a lot of trouble with anything more than basic choreography... But

I found that I like to take it as a challenge to get through a more complex

workout. I got over it and over it until I finally get it right. That's what I

did with Cathe's Basic Step.

Basic Step is NOTHIN' compared with her other stuff in terms of complexity... I don't mind trying a workout a couple of times to get some of the steps down but when I get lost in the warm-up or can't do a lot of the workout the first time through, that's a sign that it ain't gonna work for me and I don't do it again. That's the way most of Cathe's step workouts are for me. Challenges are good but I'm working out for fun and challenge and that kind of challenge just gets too frustrating to be fun.

Basic Step is NOTHIN' compared with her other stuff in terms of complexity... I don't mind trying a workout a couple of times to get some of the steps down but when I get lost in the warm-up or can't do a lot of the workout the first time through, that's a sign that it ain't gonna work for me and I don't do it again. That's the way most of Cathe's step workouts are for me. Challenges are good but I'm working out for fun and challenge and that kind of challenge just gets too frustrating to be fun.

I learn about some amazing workouts through this group! But dammit, yet another thing I absolutely want! I just got Cathe's beginning step DVD (thanks again to some of the reviews here) and I really like her style and I thought her cueing was excellent - I barely had time to review the workout and had little problem keeping up. I can see where it could start to become too low-intensity for me, but then I could just pull out my 8 inch step and use that, I suppose. I also modified some steps with hops and got a good sweat going.This program has a cycle workout in it, too! Hi!I think the spin workout is optional - you can buy the set without it for a lower price.

As for me, I'm on the fence. The pre-sale price is good - but, I really don't need anything new right now and still need to work through all that I have - as well as put some up for trades/donations. In looking at what is included in the set, I know I wouldn't do the yoga workouts (only certain yoga workouts agree with me and I am fairly sure that Cathe's will not - no offense to Cathe...) I probably also wouldn't do the barre workout, I'd rather do barre with the "experts". As for the rest, I woudln't know until I saw clips to know if they were for me or not. I would like the gliding workout and the gliders.....I guess I can always pick up the individual workouts that I want eventually or maybe trade for them.

Either way, I guess I really should save my $$ since that was one of my goals this year!!Donna

The spin workout is the one I want the most!  Though I have enough already, of course, and half the fun is making your own rides.  I look forward to hearing everyone's reviews on these!

I think it's about $10 more for the cycle DVD, which works for me because I don't have any cycling workouts at all. I always used to avoid the bikes at the gym because it seemed a little too monotonous, even with music. But if someone's pushing me, I would probably do it.I have barre experience through dance and colorguard so I have a pretty good idea of what to do, although I don't know how Cathe does it. Has she done anything like that before? I find that nothing gives me a better stretch than barre work. My dream home gym would have a mirror wall, and a wall with a barre, like a dance studio. Yeah... dreams...What really intrigues me is the idea of a low-impact HIIT. My husband follows the low-impact modifier in the Turbo Fire dvds but it doesn't seem like it gives him much of a

workout, to be honest (of course it could just be my husband., too). If Cathe can deliver a sweaty, gasping-for-air low-impact HIIT then I'm definitely there.And yeah, I don't "need" any new workouts either. Hi!I think the spin workout is optional - you can buy the set without it for a lower price.

As for me, I'm on the fence. The pre-sale price is good - but, I really don't need anything new right now and still need to work through all that I have - as well as put some up for trades/donations. In looking at what is included in the set, I know I wouldn't do the yoga workouts (only certain yoga workouts agree with me and I am fairly sure that Cathe's will not - no offense to Cathe...) I probably also wouldn't do the barre workout, I'd rather do barre with the "experts". As for the rest, I woudln't know until I saw clips to know if they were for me or not. I would like the gliding workout and the gliders.....I guess I can always pick up the individual workouts that I want eventually or maybe trade for them.

Either way, I guess I really should save my $$ since that was one of my goals this year!!Donna

I learn about some amazing workouts through this group! But dammit, yet another thing I absolutely want! I just got Cathe's beginning step DVD (thanks again to some of the reviews here) and I really like her style and I thought her cueing was excellent - I barely had time to review the workout and had little problem keeping up. I can see where it could start to become too low-intensity for me, but then I could just pull out my 8 inch step and use that, I suppose. I also modified some steps with hops and got a good sweat going.This program has a cycle workout in it, too! I don't have a spin bike (no room at all for big equipment) but it would be a great tool to use at a gym.Sigh...Namiko

I like Cathe a lot, but I think she's a bit above my level right now. I hope to

work up to doing most of her workouts! I like her general style.

At my age, I NEED low impact stuff, and I'm still working up to the high

intensity level. Her Basic Step level me sweating and puffing a lot -- and

that's her beginners stuff.

I like Cathe a lot, but I think she's a bit above my level right now. I hope to work up to doing most of her workouts! I like her general style.

At my age, I NEED low impact stuff, and I'm still working up to the high intensity level. Her Basic Step level me sweating and puffing a lot -- and that's her beginners stuff.

Oh - definately need vs/ want is a big distinction! I hope that she releases clips of the workouts, I'd like to see them before I buy. I also wish (but I don't think she is doing this) that you can buy individual workouts at a pre-sale price - I understand she may not be able to offer something as good as if you buy the whole set, but I wouldn't mind special pricing for the individual. Definately interested in the gliding! :)

Hi gang, I was really excited about this series this and preordered it already. I love Cathe, and I could definitely benefit from a low impact series. I ordered the one with the cycling workout because I have a great bike trainer.

I am surprised that I keep going back and forth on what to do about this series! I probably wouldn't use enough of it to really justify the purchase, although the pre-sale price has each DVD at $9.99, so really, an excellent deal!!I want a spin bike, but I don't want to give up my recumbent (I find the recumb is absolutely great when my back/hips are bothering me - the movement, I think is just enough to get blood flow to the area w/out being irritating and if I stretch or do Pilates afterwards I'm a new person!) or treadmill to make room for it. Are spin bikes huge? I'm wondering if maybe I couldn't tuck it behind the TM when the TM floor is folded up... and then just slide it out when I want to use the TM. I go in phases with all my equipment. I

was all about the TM for awhile, but now it is has been a long time since I used it. Same w/ recumb. I love the idea of spinning though - high intensity w/out impact.

Spin bikes don't take up much space,  Donna, and there is merit to having both a spin AND recumbent bike.  i'm grateful to the recumbent available to me at the Sweat Shops and at Noel's because it's so easy on the body and butt! 

The spin bike is a different experience.

I'm not sure that spin bikes will be good for your back! I think it depends a

lot on how the seat and handlebars are adjusted. I'd take a recumbent if I could

afford one!
