Guest guest
Amplify Your Strength!/Personal Note Today was a light workout, since I felt some reward was needed for hitting the 5 mile goal early! I went with 's Amplify Your Strength because it still provided a semi-challenge on the legs without being to intense. The semi-challenge comes of the endurance of finishing the squat, lunge, and lift combinations (which she repeats on each side) as well as balance. Balance for this workout also came in the form of reverse planks and table top planks and variations of them that left a good flexibility as well as strength challenge to not often recognize body parts (like front of the shoulders and chest). I wouldn't say all of 's workouts are tough (intensity wise however there are some moves that shouldn't be done by beginners in her workouts) when you compare them to other workouts, but she is a likable instructor that gives you a straight forward routine that will leave you refreshed. I have some of her kickboxing stuff that I would love to cross train with as I get deeper into 10 Miler training. She is non-intimidated and has an adorable personality on-screen, she is not so serious all the time and that is motivating as well. Not sure if I will do anything else this evening or not. Probably try to stretch a little more and get back on the foam roller to work out anymore IT band kinks. I have a short run on tap for tomorrow and I may take that one on the street instead of going to the trail. These gas prices you have to save $$.On a more very personal note, my cousin left this morning for deployment to Afghanistan. I ask that everybody keep prayers and good thoughts for our men and women, as well as their families. His wife is trying to hold it together, but the kids are very young and they do not fully understand. This is the side of things we don't ever see because we are so used to our loved ones being home. He is a very crucial bright moment from my f***ed up childhood, I have many great memories of spending summers with he and his sister. They were my saving grace and glimmer of hope of what reality is and he continues to play that role as a solider making the choice to do what he is called to do for our country. You don't have to agree with the war, our president, or like anybody involved otherwise, but please remember these people are making a sacrifice for us and doing what we only talk about. He is special to me even though we live so far away and I wish for he and his troops to come home safely. God Bless you Staff Sgt. Hoenge my cousin, a father, a son, a grandson, a brother, and an uncle but most of all my always been hero.
