Guest guest
B6 can cause hyperactivity, zinc can cause nausea if given on empty tummy but most al;l of our kids need these 3. My son was in such a bad way when we started biomed, one supp would not have showed any disernable change............ Omega 3's are also good for attention and concentration, have you tried those? Mandi x Hi everyone. I have just started my son on a supplement which includes zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6. This has been recommended by our doctor due to attention and concentration issues. Just wondering about other people's experiences with this combination for the same issue. Any side effects? How long did it take before you saw results? etcThanking you in advanceCheers
Guest guest
All have helped my son immensly. Mg and zinc were very low on hair mineral analysis which is very usual for ADHD type children. My son was also tested for kryptopyroles which were high - again a cause of ADHD type behaviour - this actually robs the body of B6 and zinc. The only think we have had to be careful of is that he can only tolerate low dose B6 (and now due to yasko testing we understand why). Too much B6 will cause my son significant problems until other areas are ist addressed. The krytopyroles are now back in range even with a relatively low dose B6. No fenol enzyme also helped imensly with no bad effects - just wonderful effectsAliosonm R Hi everyone. I have just started my son on a supplement which includes zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6. Guest guest
The key minerals for attentional issues are calcium, zinc, iron and magnesium. I assume the recommendation is based on some form of testing and that levels are lower than reference values and the recommendation is not merely on the basis of his behaviour. The same goes for B6, presumably as P5P which is the most bioavailable (easily used by the body). There are no studies on calcium supplementation as yet but a number on calcium levels being low in children with this behaviour pattern. For the Zn and Mg this depends partly on the reasons that levels are low (this can be dietary self-restriction; chelation without supplementation; low mineral levels in dietary intake - particularly a problem in NZ but becoming moreso in Europe and the US due to changes in farming and soil mineral depletion; or something physical in him like a difference in his metallothionein system). Response to supplementation depends also on how readily absorbed the supplements are and how they are administered. If you want to say which supplement you are giving, the amount, his age and weight, where abouts you live, his general diet and the results of testing I could be a bit more specific.Hope this helps.KenSubject: Magnesium, B6 and ZincTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Tuesday, 16 August, 2011, 20:39 Hi everyone.
