Guest guest
--- >Hello to everyone. I am a newbie and I just thought that I would introduce myself to you all. But first I wanted to comment on what happened to Deb and her husband, with the fentanyl patch. OMG, it fell off you and onto him while in bed. Wow, and then him having to have a urine test on top of it all. What a story to have to explain! LOL I used to be on those patches years ago, and after awhile had to stop because my skin was really getting sore and the only places I could use the patches were on both arms, but I did think that at the time those patches were like a miracle to me, as the pain control was so good for me. Ok, now I will introduce myself. I am , age (will be 54) in December. Divorced, mother of a daughter age 27, and my son will be 26 in January. And I have my little rat terrier, I adopted him from the humane society, his name is BINGO. I have degenerative disc. disease, and have had back surgery many years ago, when I was in my late 20's and had neck surgery when I was in my 30's and I have horrible neuropathy pain in my feet at times. I have had my entire thyroid removed, due to cancer. I am in chronic pain constantly, but... I did find a great pain mgmt. doctor to see and finally I dont have to drive hours to get to a decent pain mgmt. doctor, and get the correct pain meds to take care of my pain. I know I am lucky, as I know alot of people dont have a pain mgmt. doctor and for those that do have one, alot of them have to drive so far away to see the doc and just have problems all the time with getting their pain meds. I go once a month to see my doc. and get my pain meds with out any problems, and my pharmacy also fills them without looking at me as If I am some kind of a drug addict, I have been with the same pharmacy for over 16 yrs now, and they know me so that is good, as I have a friend and her pharmacy looks down at her when she comes in with rx's for morphine and other pain medications. I feel this is ridiculous to have to go through something like this, when you are a legit. chronic pain patient, and no one should have anything to say bad to you at all. Just my opinion, but in this day and age, it shouldnt be so hard for us to be able to get a pain doctor, but it still is, and it shouldnt be hard for us to get heavy duty pain meds, but it is. Well... enough of this. I will be quiet now. I just wanted to introduce myself and also ask if there are any of you on this list who do have problems finding and keeping a good pain mgmt doctor. also I have a friend, via email, who is about to lose her pain doc,as the doctor has decided to quit being a pain doctor and gave her 30 days notice that she wouldnt be seeing her anymore, and I have no idea of what to tell my friend, as I dont live near her, she lives in Illinois, I live in Orlando, Florida. If anyone has any suggestions, mabey let me know and I will let my friend know where she can mabey look for a doc. Well, I will go for now, and I am so glad to be here with all of you. Unfortunately what we all have in common is... PAIN. Well, bye for now. love, denise > I had that problem with it also. as far as sticking. You can call the manufacturer and tell them your having a problem with them sticking. they will ask you for a number off your box of patches, and they will send you basically second skins. They worked pretty well and until my skin just really started having more an more of a issue with skin breakdown, was on them. heck, I even pushed it a bit longer. I only used them on my arms cause a few times that I had it on my back, it was a close call. Hubby is Navy and of course they have random urine screening. well, one night it had come off me and stuck to his back while we were sleeping. it wasnt for very long we dont think cause he didnt feel anything. Of course, as he was leaving for work, he said " watch, Ill have to go for a piss test " well sure enough, chief said to him " veil, medical " earl was like well chief, need to talk to you. he asked Earl if he was gonna pop, and he said maybe but.. explained it to him, chief was > laughing. told him to let them know over at medical so he got over there, they asked him if he was on any medication, he said yes but, told the guys they were cracking up the said to him " now that one is too good to make up! he never got called on it, so either he didnt pop or because it was noted that wife on duragesic patch fell off during night and was on him, unsure for length of time. But, that is deffinatly a story that will stay around for a long long time. > > Blessed Be > Deb > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
