-- Mom and Braids

Hi All,

I went in this evening to take care of mom and sit with her for a

while. Mom still isn't talking but she did have her eyes wide open. I

was looking all over her body for the estrogen patch but couldn't find

one. Finally tracked down the nurse and got another one put on - I'm

keeping my fingers crossed that this will help mom big time.

Since mom was awake and I ran out of things to say I suddenly found

myself up on my feet making braids on either side of mom's head as she

lay down in bed. I couldn't help laughing my head off as I positioned

the braids in the 9 and 3 oclock positions. I told mom that she now

looked like a little girl or an Indian princess. Mom was also smiling

because I was laughing. I left the room for a bit and joking said to

mom when I came back in " have you taken apart your braid " and mom, who

finally spoke for the first time in 1 1/2 weeks and said " no " . She then

let out a big sigh and fell asleep.

A nice night after so many sad ones.

Courage
