Guest guest
I am hoping now that MERCK is under investigation for VIOXX and how it has killed so many of us with heart attacks while the company knew about for years, that they may also start an investigation for their statins since they have caused much in the way of damaged organs and deaths around the country all while they knew about it. Same company; different drug; same practices. Ed - Group owner
Guest guest
Let's hope the VIOXX scandal will help focus the spotlight on all these toxic drugs they're pushing on an all-too-often unsuspecting public! It's a beginning!Ed & Dawn Gundy wrote: I am hoping now that MERCK is under investigation for VIOXX and how it has killed so many of us with heart attacks while the company knew about for years, that they may also start an investigation for their statins since they have caused much in the way of damaged organs and deaths around the country all while they knew about it.Same company; different drug; same practices.Ed - Group owner
Guest guest
I am certain these pharmaceutical companies determine the risk- benefit ratio of any drug they market. how can a copmpany like Pfizer lose? They make 9 -10 BILLION dollars A YEAR on Lipitor alone. There will not be enough injured people suing to even make a dent into those deep pockets. and with an administration in the white house that worships at the feet of big business and big money, limiting the monetary amounts in court judgments will be one of their major undertakings. Read Dr. Angell's book about the drug companies. she was formerly the editor of the new england journal of medicine. olsen > > I am hoping now that MERCK is under investigation for VIOXX and how > it has killed so many of us with heart attacks while the company knew > about for years, that they may also start an investigation for their > statins since they have caused much in the way of damaged organs and > deaths around the country all while they knew about it. > > Same company; different drug; same practices. > > Ed - Group owner
Guest guest
In the first Baycol trial in Corpus Christi, the fact that all study subjects who exhibited swallowing problems were immediately dropped from the study surfaced. Why? because swallowing problems were encountered in the original canine studies and the company did not want to have to list the symptom as a side effect (think Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Just one way in which the drug industry manipulates their studies and therefore the reported results. (I have personally heard of 2 cases originally diagnosed as ALS that were found to be statin toxicity--) olsen > I am hoping now that MERCK is under investigation for VIOXX and how > it has killed so many of us with heart attacks while the company knew > about for years, that they may also start an investigation for their > statins since they have caused much in the way of damaged organs and > deaths around the country all while they knew about it. > > Same company; different drug; same practices. > > Ed - Group owner > > > > > >
