Guest guest
Well............ About 1 week later I got this terrible rash in the inside of my right elbow. I mean it was pretty bad and itch.......wow. Well it lasted for a good week and then went away. I looked up measles on the internet and found a picture of the rash, mine was the same one. It was cool. Hi, I must be one of the old ones cause I had the measles, both 3 day and 14 day measles. Also chicken pox and mumps. Guest guest
and the 14 day measles at 17 This must have been hard. Gwen 104 degree temperature and delirium was the worst part, I guess - no visable bumps on that one. But, you know, I never get sick now. I haven't had a cold in 8 or 9 years, nor the flu in 28 years! I also had pneumonia about 8 or 9 years ago. Carol
Guest guest
But, you know, I never get sick now. I haven't had a cold in 8 or 9 years, nor the flu in 28 years! I also had pneumonia about 8 or 9 years ago. Carol Yahoo! Groups I am looking forward to my dietary changes doing this for me. I was sick last year with pneumonia so bad that I literally thought I would die and it took 6 weeks to getover it and actually my lungs are not the same as before. then the doctor ordered me some antibiotics (i should have been in the hospital was so sick) the meds didn't work and went to see him again. he gave me an injection of anti biotics even though i said to him......i am allergic to penicillin and i really don't like the thought of being given something that i have never had before, especially in an injection......he said, you will be fine! Then the same day he stared me on tequill. another kind of antibiotic.......this was Friday ... On Sunday I woke up with swollen lips, throat ECT.... Had to call the doctor on call...........hives, rash every where...I was a mess...... Benadryl.........then a reaction to the benadryl........ On and on.... i quit taking everything and got better. told the doctor at the next visit about all the reactions and he said well now u can;t take penicillin keflex or tequill. (which is cipro) Should have stuck with my gut and said no that day to the injection and no to starting yet another kind of antibiotic. See my body and mind knew but I would not listen to it...I was over ruled by authority and my insecurities to say no to a doctor. Guest guest
I am looking forward to my dietary changes doing this for me. I was sick last year with pneumonia so bad that I literally thought I would die and it took 6 weeks to getover it and actually my lungs are not the same as before. Gwen, I must say that, although the dietary changes should theoretically help keep you from getting sick so much, I really can't attribute my record of very little illness to my diet. I believe it's just an over-active immune system and/or genetics for me, because I have never been sick much my whole life. (My diet has certainly not been good my whole life.) My siblings and parents were the same way, so it's at least partially genetic. However, we have seen our fair share of autoimmune disease in my family. My sister had an autoimmune lung problem that was common in my Dad's Danish ancestry. (Of course they didn't know it was autoimmune back then.) My niece has Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is also an autoimmune disease. But, other than those things - nothing. I have noticed though, that people who have MS seem to fall into two major categories - those who are sick with contagious diseases ALOT and those who seem to rarely get sick. I suspect that has to do with the new discovery last year, I think it was, where they found that MS is probably really 4 different diseases from 4 different causes. I wouldn't be surprised if they find that those of us who seldom 'catch' anything are in one category and those who are 'always' sick are in another category, each of which are caused by different sources, such as bacteria as opposed to virus or some other cause altogether. Of course, this is just speculation on my part, but I can't help but think something is causing those differences between us. I also think it's fairly obvious that my system is immunologically over-active and those whe are always sick have an under active immune system. I also think that that's what they're referring to when they say a weak immune system, whether it's over active or under active, it's weak, because it's out of balance, and puts our bodies in jeopardy, one way or another. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I read the ms cured group but don't write in too much. From what I have learned is that ms is really the problem of the overburdened immune system. I think different things push each one of us over the edge. I think vaccines, mercury, (metals), pesticides, bacteria, viruses, pollution, stress, drugs, etc.. are all part of it. I am working with a nutritionist who has me cleaning out junk little by little. For example, she said that the measles vaccine is a problem for those with ms. So......she had me take a Croton plant chop it up put it in olive oil place in the sun for a day and then rub it on my spine once a day. I am pretty much open to anything so I did it. Well............ About 1 week later I got this terrible rash in the inside of my right elbow. I mean it was pretty bad and itch.......wow. Well it lasted for a good week and then went away. I looked up measles on the internet and found a picture of the rash, mine was the same one. It was cool. She has got me of course eating right, doing homeopathics, cleanses, and flower essences to clear the emotional crap inside. I read earlier that one of you did a parasite cleanse and nothing happened. Oh my God when I did my first one I was up all night before the full moon just sitting rocking on the floor in my kitchen. It was awful. I have a zapper but I hate to use it cuz it takes 1 hour to do. I also have a little machine that I got thru her that reduced inflammation. It works!!!!!!!! There is no name on it, so I don't know what it is called. All I know is that since I have been using it, I can walk better and my legs don't turn purple and they don't feel like lead as much at all. I went off all meds 2 months ago. It took me along time to get off Baclofen. But I am glad I did!!!!!!! I also have something called a Soma board. It neutralizes toxins in the body and also for food. This works, when I have a lot of pain in my legs I put it on and the pain does decrease so I know it works. I don't dare tell my neuro about all this stuff because they would say don't be fooled, etc.. But being a medical professional myself, I have come to realize that the allopathic way is not for me and no one with ms gets better. They just want to give you more drugs because that is all they know. I know in my soul that this is the way I should go. I think a lot of different routes will work to improve ms because there are a lot of ways to improve the immune system. And thats what we need to do. After all, thats what interferon is...its a protein that kills viruses. kc Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
KC, What we now call simply MS may accually be several diseases with similar symptoms, some viral, some bacterial (like mine) and some with some as yet unknown environmental cause. I'm in an MS bacterial study: http://www.sky.net/~dporter/MSCFSABX.htm Kip >--- Original Message --- > >To: mscured >Date: 4/29/01 6:10:20 PM > ><html><div> > > > > ></p> ><div></div> > > > >Hi everyone, I read the ms cured group but don't write in too much. </p></div> > > > </p> ><div></div> > > >From what I have learned is that ms is really the problem of the overburdened immune system. I think different things push each one of us over the edge. I think vaccines, mercury, (metals), pesticides, bacteria, viruses, pollution, stress, drugs, etc.. are all part of it.</p> ><div></div> > > >I am working with a nutritionist who has me cleaning out junk little by little. For example, she said that the measles vaccine is a problem for those with ms. So......she had me take a Croton plant chop it up put it in olive oil place in the sun for a day and then rub it on my spine once a day. I am pretty much open to anything so I did it. </p> ><div></div> > > >Well............ About 1 week later I got this terrible rash in the inside of my right elbow. I mean it was pretty bad and itch.......wow. Well it lasted for a good week and then went away. I looked up measles on the internet and found a picture of the rash, mine was the same one. It was cool. </p> ><div></div> > > >She has got me of course eating right, doing homeopathics, cleanses, and flower essences to clear the emotional crap inside. I read earlier that one of you did a parasite cleanse and nothing happened. Oh my God when I did my first one I was up all night before the full moon just sitting rocking on the floor in my kitchen. It was awful. I have a zapper but I hate to use it cuz it takes 1 hour to do.</p> ><div></div> > > >I also have a little machine that I got thru her that reduced inflammation. It works!!!!!!!! There is no name on it, so I don't know what it is called. All I know is that since I have been using it, I can walk better and my legs don't turn purple and they don't feel like lead as much at all. </p> ><div></div> > > >I went off all meds 2 months ago. It took me along time to get off Baclofen. But I am glad I did!!!!!!! I also have something called a Soma board. It neutralizes toxins in the body and also for food. This works, when I have a lot of pain in my legs I put it on and the pain does decrease so I know it works. </p> ><div></div> > > >I don't dare tell my neuro about all this stuff because they would say don't be fooled, etc.. Guest guest
Carol. What a great theory. If it was even a little bit true then I am in the category of the person that gets sick all the time. Interesting enough, when I was a vegan many years again, I was never sick. Of course I also believe in excersize and I was very active. I was into body building and I swam every day. what are you thoughts about excersize? i know am back swimming 3 times aweeks and i hobble around the neighborhood every day. i also recently started to lift 5 pound weights again (i use to bench press 130 pounds) Gwen

But, I was always very active. Took ballet for 10 years ending at age 17. Used to camp and hike a lot with my ex husband in the Olympics and we walked every night after work about 4 miles a night. We also did a lot of bicycle riding - 50 miles at a stretch, etc. Took up cross country skiing in my 40s. Then I got MS at 48, in the middle of everything. Didn't/couldn't do much of anything until last spring, when I started walking again and worked it up to 2 miles a day. Had to quit over the frozen winter, but have been ready to get back at it again now. I guess I'm hesitating still a little, because right now it's pouring rain and we're expecting 45 mph winds. But, I plan to do the same this year as last - no reason not to, I feel the same. I think exercise is very important, but you must find the right outlet for yourself. For me, it's always been a sport of some kind, as opposed to regimented routines. Some people may not have as much choice, if their weather won't permit being outside. That's the case for me in the winter. Temperatures in the teens are just too much for my feet now. Carol
