Good News . I accompanied my husband on his visit to the doctor

today, and he prescribed Dilaudid for me. He even gave me a script for a

scooter. I hope the insurance will cover it. I am going to check into this

tomorrow.

Diane, what is RA?

RA stands for Rheumatoid Arthritis. My doctor even said he would fill out a

Motor Vehicle Application for a Handicapped Place Card. What a sweetheart,

huh? I told him that I would " love him forever. "

Thanks for the answer., That is what I thought but did not want to assume

anything. It sucks doesn't it. hate pain. You have a lot on your plate. Is

it difficult for you to take care of your son with the added stress RA has on

your body?

Hi ,

Do you have the lift on your vehicle to transport the scooter too? I'm having a

horrible time trying to get funding for that part. It is expensive to get the

lift, and I just cannot afford it. I really need my scooter for dr's appts and

such. And it would be nice to go to the Mall every now and then. If you got your

lift, did you get funding somehow and with whom?

Re: Diane/percocets

I do and I dont know what I would do without my

scooter. I got it completely free, thru the scooter store, they

advertise u will get it free, if you cannot afford to pay for what

medicare wont, and since I am on SSDI, and cannot pay anything they

told me dont worry, we are connecting u to the ins. dept now, just

tell them when they ask u if you can pay the remaining 300.00 due,

that u cannot afford it, and they just gave it to me, free!! the next

day the scooter people were at my house and I got the scooter, and I

am on it every day, takeing my little doggie for walks, he needs to

walk, I wish I could walk as far as we go with the scooter. anyway,

didnt mean to get off on a tangent here, but thats me. once I start,

LOL I cannot shut up. LOL and talking about getting a scooter, I just

wanted You to know that if u do have medicare, or any ins. and they

pay only a part of it, that I do know for a fact that The Scooter

Store will let u have yours for free. Let us all know what happens,

when and if u do get the scooter. Good luck to you with your new

medication and getting the scooter.

Love,

Yes, it is really difficult. The bottoms of my feet are numb and tingle all

the time. When they hurt, it's even worse. He cannot go to to toilet

alone. He cannot dress himself. He cannot bathe himself. That's all left up

to

me and my husband (when he's not at work).

Hi Tommie, no I dont have a lift for my scooter, sometimes I wish I had one,

just to have it, but dont have money for one, at the moment, and I have rented a

scooter for t he day once when I went over to Disney, to MGM for the day(I LIVE

IN ORLANDO, FL) anyway, I hope that you will be able to find a lift at a good

cheap rate, like mabey, FREE!!!?? LOL . seriously, I think it was her,

mentioned Easter Seals, check with them, I think I will check with them also to

see if they help with anything like this. The scooter store, doesnt deal with

the lifts and they do have some extras but u have to pay for them, like flags

for the scooter, and ramps etc. medicare wont pay for those things.

anyway, Tommie, good luck in trying to find a lift .

take care

p.s. I tried to send this reply twice already, hope it doesnt come back to the

list two more times, those will be by mistake, My computer was acting up at the

time!! Bye!

Thank you . Yes, I have rented the scooters before like at Six Flags in

Texas. I live in Oklahoma. We had gone down there once to Six Flags. They

charged like $35 for the day, but let me tell you, it was money well spent. I'd

have paid even more for it if I had to. I wish more places had them so you could

shop or just go out for entertainment, besides the grocery stores. At least we

do have those though. I've not been many places in the past 5 yrs because of

this. I use to go to the Mall at Christmas time. You can get some really good

deals out there for gifts, reasonably priced too :) Then there's WM. So, I'm

still grateful, but always want more. lol Is that wrong of me?

The scooter store wouldnt help me, I'm on Medicaid only and they done take

that. I dont want Medicare, even tho I probably do qualify; I get so much more

from Medicaid. They pay 100% of prescriptions, and most others. No co-pay, no

deductible. But, on the subject of scooters, they are like Medicare. . . 'in

home use only', and my house is too small for one! 20-25 steps will take mne

anywhere in my house that I need to go, and I doubt that a scooter will even fit

through the front door!
