Guest guest
I just want to share with those of you who might not be aware that there is a benefit call FMLA-Family Leave of Absence, which can be used so you can have time off from work to be with your loved one. You can take up to 3 months off in a years time either in increments or all together. As a hospital nurse, I was on FMLA for 3 years. I was able to take off to care for my Dad without notice. Sometimes, I took a week, most of the time I took just a few hours or day. I really tried to budget my time off, because LBD goes on for so long. Even though my absence my have impacted the unit, it was never held against me. I have a feeling that the employer is not allowed to descriminate against you for taking time off. I have recently retired and don't have the worry of balancing family problems along with work. Thank God!!!! The FMLA is regulated. For more info, look it up on the internet. it was a God send for me! Thanks for listening, Gerry
