Guest guest
Hi Ed, I just took the time to read all 191 posts tonight. A bit behind keeping up with the different groups this past week since I found out I will require another surgery. It appears this surgery will be a bigger deal than the original bypass surgery . Now about CoQ10 and Lipitor. First of all I have been on 10mg of Lipitor for several years with no side effects and my sister has been on 40mg and my mom on 80mg all with no side effects. I just consider us a lucky family that is able to tolerate this drug. My husband tried it and had to switch to Zocor and so far no problem. Originally he was on baycol (he works for the maker of Baycol) but that drug was recalled because of deaths linked to it. I started taking CoQ10 because after having the bypass I got pericarditis and even after the pericarditis was treated I was tired all the time, short of breath and just basically found it difficult to do anything. Ed suggested I try CoQ10 and it has made a huge difference. Ed you asked me the other night if I was still supportive of taking the CoQ10 and I said I was but not sure if it was helping. Looking back over the past 8 months I realize I said that only because I am in so much pain - you wouldn't believe the combination of pain killers I am on- but yes CoQ10 has made a very big difference. These past few days have been terrible but I still have ENERGY and I have never gotten as short of breath as I did last fall. Priior to the surgery I was so tired that I couldn't do gardening which I absolutely love to do and even with all the pain I have done all the gardening myself since spring arrived. I have massive flower beds so it is a rel accomplishment. I also do all housework, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, cooking , cleaning even though all bones in the sternum and chest area are infected. I am telling you thhis only to let you know how effective I believe the CoQ10 to be.Before taking CoQ10 I was in intensive care twice - now I manage to need only overnight stays - a big improvement. For those of you interested the bone infection needs to be scraped from each boneand that is the reason I require surgery. the incidence of this happening is 2 in 10 000. i wonder who the other person is. Gail in Canada I sent a note an e-mail saying I could forward a copy fo the Canadian Compendium article which supports Coq10 being used if you take Lipitor. I do believe taking this supplement is a very wise choice. > > Just last year I was diagnosed with an 80 percent blockage. The > blockage was in such a place that he couldn't insert a stent.
