Guest guest
Jan, I talked to Ed's secretary and faxed copies of all the messages pertaining to you from this message board. She couldn't promise that he would be able to read them before you talk to him but at least the papers will be available. Don't give up. See what he has to say and do whatever it takes. I also talked to the Director of Hospice of Orange County and she said that what everyone is doing on this website is WONDERFUL and has given me permission to personally give out her name and 800 number to post on the web for anyone to feel free to call her and ask questions about Hospice. Even though she works in Orange County, California, she is interested in bringing information together nationwide/worldwide to help the Caregiver/Terminal LO as much as possible. She also said a lot of doctor's don't understand what Hospice is really all about and the best way to combat that is exactly what we are doing here on this website. She is one of the wonderful, caring people that will go overboard to find a way to justice. Her name is KAREN THOMPSON, Director of Hospice Care California, (800) 889.3227 If you call, the person answering the phone will take a message and give it to and she will return your call. This is their system because of the many phone calls they receive during the day. Be sure to tell her that Stevie Strang referred you and she know that you are calling in reference to this web sight. Jan...I also gave the Social Worker all the papers that I faxed to the lawyer and because she is a Social Worker she said that she can network to the proper " athorities " and see if anyone is listening. It will be interesting to see what happens. Don't ever give up. Wishing the best outcome for all involved and Peace to everyone on this wonderful message board! You have certainly helped me to keep my sanity. Love and prayers to all....Stevie p.s...because I am fairly new to this website I don't really know who keeps the " books " on this site but hope is it okay make 's number available. My apologies if it is otherwise. * * * * * * * * * * * LOL! Stevie, you are a miracle worker if you pull this off. I can not tell you the people I have begged, pleaded and went hysterical with to no avail could I get any help here. I will be forevergrateful to you for this. Everyone has told me that divorce is the only way out for me. I am standing my ground not to do it. It is the last resort, if all else fails, that I will have to do, because we are fast running out of the IRA money. That is the only thing that I have to pull from for us to survive on. I can only pull from it once a year without penalty. I am trying to avoid the penalty pay, since I need to save every dollar I can, if attorneys don't take it all first. I just don't think it is right to force people to divorce, so that there can be sanity and a way to survive. I tell all we are separate entities in the Trusts, but our assets are seen as joint no matter what, because we are spouses I am told by the social worker at MediCal. My attorney that specializes in MediCal figured our assets as separate entities and said that Jim would qualify. Why would he do that if MediCal doesn't see it that way. I am going to call the attorney on Monday that you gave me the number to. I was going to call my attorney and make an appointment to see where it all failed. He just came back on January 3 from vacation, but now I won't set up an appointment with him, because I can not afford to pay two attorneys to help me. Stevie, I know you are a busy person and for you to go out of your way to help me is so gracious, thank you a million times! Hugs to you, Jan
