I see no problem with that at all. Be cautious about too much cardio though.

One of our members suffered some loss of muscle from too much cardio. If you

want to do this, you can preserve the muscle while still losing the fat by

supplementing your diet with products containing glutatmine. I believe GKG is

a good one to use. You may also look for more information in Sports

Supplement Review. It is a great way to learn about different products, and

also how each one of them reacts in your body while on a weight training

program. I hope this helped.

<< I am not able to do high impact cardio due to hip problems and was told by

a

personal trainer that walking as fast as I can on a treadmill at the highest

incline will burn just as much fat as running on a flat surface. I used

that

for my cardio for my 12 week round last year and will be using it again this

year. Use what you feel works best for you. ~Laury >>

I did this exercise when I had a back injury. This is cool for anybody though!

The incline is a good workout, lower impact and gets results. I just wanted

to add for everyone, you can change the incline level and/or speed to get

your 5-10 level intensity. Keep good form, relaxed upright posture, keep

your abs stabilized, make a good comfortable stride from the heel to ball of

your foot. Your front leg should be slightly in front of you as you stride

with the heel meeting the roller, and simultaneously your rear leg stretches

back and your right foot pushes off the ball of the foot behind you. As you

push off the rear foot, you should feel a full muscle usage of the total leg

including a little more noticeable glute contraction too. Did ya get all

that, well this is a great exercise!!! Try it, it will like you back!

I was wondering if anyone could answer this question?

" Do you think using the EFX (eliptical cross training machine) is the

same as using the treadmill for the workouts? I like the EFX machine

better because it is NO impact. What about if I do the scheduled

workout in the morning and then after work do more cardio, do you think

that would be alright? "

Another BFL-er posted that in another club and no one has answered her,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice to give her.

Thanks, Priscilla.....

Hey Ziqena,

Thanks for all these name suggestions. I just posted that I'm gonna call

myself Champ, but you know what? I love Lean. That is so cool - and

since my dream is to be lean, the Champ (after 5 minutes) has retired and

Lean has stepped up to the plate. Woo Hoo.

Lean.

Ha ha, Thanks for all the support Z. Yes Champ is a good name but I much

prefer Lean. How come you go to bed in the middle of the day? I'm

just having my lunch and you are off to bed? Surely all these e mails don't

make you THAT tired LOL.

Well, Z on the glutamine thing, I heard or read that it's best to use a

glutamine supplement or something with glutamine in it to keep your body from

losing any muscle as a result of overdoing the cardio. Even if you are

doing your normal cardio routine, I do believe that you will still lose a bit

of muscle with the fat that is lost, but not huge amounts. I think what Bill

is saying is that you need to limit the time, and increase the intensity so

you don't lose any muscle tissue. I may be wrong too, so don't quote me on

that. On your other question, I don't think you need to change your diet

like you do your weight training, or your cardio. I believe you need to stay

on an even keel with your diet. No matter if you are doing cardio that day,

or weights your protein intake, and your carb intake as well as your water

consumption should be the same no matter what.

On eating after your workouts, I have also read that you should wait to eat

up to an hour after your workouts. Your body is still burning some calories

up to an hour after your done working out. I say that you should wait an

hour after exercise, whether it be weights, or cardio to consume any meals.

I think that pretty much covers it. I hope this helps answer those questions.
