Guest guest
Its the creatine in it that holds water in your muscles. Creatine makes your muscles look larger because of the water retention. Drinking 3 to 4 quarts of water a day will help move that water through your tissues. For women, this can give a " bloated " appearance, so the week before your final photos, drop the creatine from your diet and you will shed that excess water to give you that " cut " look. ~Laury
Guest guest
Hey Guys, I was talking to Luanne last night about Creatine...... just wanted to give you a heads up.... Last year this time I started taking creatine and after about 3 months I starting waking up every morning with severe pains in my mid lower back on both sides. The pain would last about an hour or so. I never attributed the pain to my kidneys. LOL I thought those things were on the front side of my body. Anyway,,, after about a month of the severe pains I went to the doctor and they ran some blood work on me and found that my creatine levels were through the rough...... THIS is what was causing the pain in my kidneys.... I dropped it all together until I started the 12 week challenge.... then sure enough in the 2nd week of the challenge the pains were back.... I knew immediately what it was and lowered my intake to just a couple days a week. Keep this in mind guys!

Guest guest
, I was also told, after blood work, that the creatine was killing my kidneys. I stopped taking it all together. I am not against others taking it. I think some people's tolerance is different than others. I would definately get some blood work done to monitor it though. I almost lost my kidneys because of it. And like you , I was taking one dose a day. My doctor said that your kidneys have to work extra hard to proccess the creatine. And doing this every day will over work them. Kind of like drinking alcohol daily and what it does to your liver. ~Laury
Guest guest
Thank you Laury! I may not be using too much Creatine in the next round. I will just go by the signs my body gives me. Talk to you soon,
Guest guest
Hey Luanne, About the blood tests, I didn't ask them to test my creatine levels. They just did what they called a full blood analysis test on me. I'm sure you could specifically request it though.
Guest guest
Luanne, I had not been experiencing any problems from the creatine and had merely gone in for a checkup and routine blood work. My doctor called me at home and was very frantic about my stopping the creatine right away. It almost scared me the way he sounded on the phone. Otherwise I would have still been using it. ~Laury
