Hi Everyone!Woke up w/ a headache today - we're supposed to get 2 solid days of torrential rains and I think that may be behind the headache (I tend to get them when we have frequent weather changes and rain - so a lot in the spring!) I still dragged myself out of bed to exercise though - it helps that DH gets up early so I really can't just go back to sleep (he makes too much noise) Anyway, since I treadmilled yesterday (bonus workout - 30 min on the TM and upper body and total body segments from Tracey Mallett's Renew You Cardio Fusion) and I biked earlier in the week I figured I'd do something different today and went with step.

I did Tracie Long's Longevity workout - Step Forward. I liked it - the step segments are fairly basic, so once you get them down you can go for it intensity wise and not worry about tripping over your own feet. Tracie's cuing is good (more on that later!), the set is nice, and the music is audible and not bad at all either! There is one glitch though, in one of the step segments, Tracie's verbal cues do not match what she is doing on-screen. The saving graces are that the moves are simple so you can do it by tuning out her verbal cues and just watching her on screen, or, if it really, really bugs you, the DVD is well chaptered, so you can skip over to the next chapter when the cues again match the moves. It is disappointing that there is this glitch in the editing of the DVD b/c overall it is well produced and edited! And, I feel that Tracie has improved even more as an instructor -she was always good - but she is even better in this one (and I

presume the rest in the series). Oh - there are no backgrounders - it is 1:1 w/ Tracie. For some of the moves she does start with a less intense/complex version and you can always stick with that version if you don't feel like doing the intense or more complex variation. The workout ends with some leg toning work done on the step (but still at an aerobic pace), tricep dips, push-ups and a nice plank series. Tracie also stretches at the end, but I added on some of my own stretches as well. The DVD has two pre-mixes "Step On the Go" (15 min) and Total Body Tag Along (20 min, which sounds like the last bit of the workout w/ the leg work, tricep dips, push-ups, etc.)I ended up with the first 4 Longevity workouts and the first 4 Focus workouts when she had her buy 1 get 1 sale in the fall. They have sat in my virgin pile since then! I will have to work some of the others in at some point. I think two more of each have been released -

hopefully I'll get those at some point, but should probably work through what i have first! :)I think I will do her "focus" workout Reach Further this weeked on Saturday for my active recovery day.Hope everyone has a good day!
