I thought you would like to know exactly what has happened. Today, the GMC has adjourned the Hearing for a further 3 months. This is because, basically, they have made a complete mess of everything - boy, are they in trouble - and boy - do they know it.

First Professor Pierre-Marc Bouloux, BSc(hons) MBBS(hons) MRCS LRCP MD FRCP, Professor of Endocrinology who was acting as Expert Witness for the GMC has made an almighty mess for himself - and I can only say, - well done Professor Bouloux.

OK, so you are wondering what happened. Well...wait for it. A certain individual who was a patient of Dr Skinner attended The London Clinic where s/he saw Professor Bouloux. As far as I can gather, in the course of convenservation, mention was made of Dr Skinner and his appearance before the GMC at the end of July. Professor Bouloux then said something along the lines of "He is a Maverick, and yes, we've got him at last"...Oh dear ! and....who are "WE"?

It was related back to the Legal Expert acting for Dr Skinner. Days later, Dr Skinner contacted Professor Bouloux asking for an apology, but the prof. did not provide this, stating only that perhaps he should have phrased it more gently. However, to cut a very long story short, because we don't know the details of what then happened between the GMC and Professor Bouloux, it was decided that he could not be used as an expert witness because of his total bias. Therefore, arguments then followed between the GMC and Dr Skinner's Barrister about the best way to go forward, and most of the time, the Hearing was held in Camera with us all sitting in the waiting room for hours at a timne.

You will all be able to read the details that are in the Transcript of the Hearing, which the GMC will be sending to me, probably in 3 to 4 weeks time and we will then put this on to our web site for all to read.

The next hearing should be held sometime during November 2011, but meanwhile IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT ALL THOSE OF YOU WHO WISH TO SUPPORT DR SKINNER, contnue to write letters of support sending these to the people mentioned previously.

I have a good feeling in my bones, the Chairnan conductingt this Hearing was wonderful with a very acute sense of fairness, and he made a point of this. Dr Skinner was naturally disappointed that this would be dragging on further and for his restrictions to practice not being lifted due to the GMC's complete incompetence, but if the meaning of the phrase "...they made a complete bollo**s of this.." - don't be surprised - THIS COULD GO DOWN IN HISTORY!

Even more interesting in this case.....Professor Bouloux is the same doctor the GMC used as an expert witness in the Dr Myhill case.

It's strange that the same doctor can be an 'expert' witness for CFS/ME and thyroid disease when neither of those medical areas are his specialties!I wonder who they'll get next.

I really get the sense that this , like Wakefields case, is at best a witch hunt.. and at worst some racketeering group protecting themselves at all costs.!!
